In 2020, I began leading group singing and vocal technique workshops online, and since then, I have been able to develop exercises that meet the individual needs of each singer in order to offer personalized programs. These exercises are based on the singing pedagogy that I studied during my singing diplomas (BAC +3, then an additional year (BAC +4 equivalent) and several short courses). The exercises take into account the physiological function of the voice and our entire body as an instrument. In these lessons, we will cover vocal techniques, breathing, voice placement as well as develop knowledge of the mechanism of the voice, articulators and muscles that stabilize breathing and breathing. We dedicate time at the end of each class to sing one or more songs to practice the techniques learned. I consider myself an intermediate level singer (have had four years of opera training) so listening to feedback was challenging from a new observer. It was only the first lesson so I need to do more to gauge our compatibility but he definitely seems knowledgeable about voices and ways to improve just based off of a few sounds, which I found interesting and impressive. I articulated my goals and he believes he can help me get there. He is direct and to the point - also a quality I appreciate. We'll see. But so far so good ;)
