Trusted teacher: Are you curious about singing, but feel like you don’t know where to start? Do you already have some experience of singing and are curious about what your voice could achieve at its full potential? Do you feel shy about your voice and wish you could feel confident enough to sing in front of other people? I am Olivia, a professional opera singer who is passionate about teaching singers a healthy vocal technique in all styles of singing, and helping them to grow in confidence along the way. My teaching room is a safe space where students are free to experiment, make mistakes and discover everything about their voice with my full support! I have been teaching singing privately to pupils of all ages and levels for several years, as well as enjoying a busy performance career. I find that being a regular performer myself is very important when imparting knowledge and advice to my students because I want to teach you more than just the mechanics of singing - I want to guide you towards being an artist and expressing YOUR unique voice and personality. I work on vocal technique, drama and language, and have worked with children, teenagers, and adults - both those hoping to sing professionally and enthusiastic amateurs! Every lesson will include warmups and technical exercises as well as work on repertoire that we will choose together. I can teach in English, French or Italian. As for my performance experience: I began taking singing lessons at 13 years old after joining the school choir in secondary school in London, and adored the process of training my voice. In my teens, I performed in concerts as a soloist and also in a few musical theatre roles, most notably Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. I moved to Switzerland and trained as an opera singer at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève, and did a Specialised Masters (Soloist) at the Hochschule der Künste Bern. I have since gone on to perform with the opera houses of Geneva, Lausanne and Lucerne, the Opera House of Zrenjanin in Serbia, the Jeunesses Musicales Opera Studio (Croatia), London Grimeborn Festival, and have been a featured soloist at such concert venues as the Berlin Philharmonic, Salle Paderewski in Lausanne, the BFM in Geneva, the Cologne Philharmonic, and St Johns Smith Square in London. Most recently you may have seen me as Mrs P. in the Swiss première of Michael Nyman's 'The Man who mistook his Wife for a Hat' in Vevey, or if you've been enjoying the program 'Blob Opera' this year, you might be interested to know that I was one of the opera singers working on this project by recording hours of material for a machine to create an algorithm that recreating an opera singer's voice! Good singing is about solid and healthy vocal technique, a good feeling for music, self-expression and confidence! I would love to work with you to build all of these parts of yourself and to see where your voice takes you. If you have any questions, please do get in touch with me!

Natacha - Épalinges104Fr
Holder of a Diploma in Teaching Singing (Master of Pedagogy) as well as a First Prize in Virtuosity (Master of Soloist) from the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne, I also have a Diploma of Technician in the Operating Room from the Ecole Supérieure de la Santé de Lausanne which allowed me to acquire great knowledge in human anatomy. After discovering the magnificent work of Robin de Haas, I chose to train in MDH respiratory coordination in order to further refine my knowledge of the human instrument that is the voice. I am happy today to bring together all these skills in order to best support my students on the extraordinary path that is that of the voice. The lessons begin with work on breathing and posture, they continue with vocalizations across the entire range in order to equalize the registers and allow the amplification of the voice, then end with work on the scores and their interpretation. This list is not exhaustive and the course of the lesson depends of course on the level and the request of the student. The lessons are intended for anyone motivated by working on their voice, from novice singers to professionals looking for interpretation advice, including amateur choristers and singers with vocal difficulties. I look forward to welcoming you to Epalinges and traveling a long way with you!

Trusted teacher: My method of teaching singing gives a preponderance to authenticity. Initially through appropriate exercises I lead you in the discovery of the tools which we all have to sing and to have a correct emission. . Your natural voice will find its place and be fortified according to your own morphological parameters. We will then develop your ''sounding boards''; on a correct management of the breath, your voice will open out in flexibility, lightness and power to approach a lyrical repertoire according to your prerogatives. This training completes the basics of a classical vocal technique, the applied method is the result of 18 years of research and experience. The practice of pianist-rehearsal one is a guarantee of support for all the training options: exercises, setting up a repertoire and preparing for an audition. This musical culture offers the opportunity to join a young opera troupe and participate in the development of an opera.:
Trusted teacher: • Do you like to sing, do you want to tame the possibilities of your voice? • Are you part of a choir and would like to gain vocal comfort and autonomy? • Do you need coaching to work on your stage presence, your diction, your interpretation? • Do you want to discover the vast vocal repertoire of early music? I would like to help you move forward on the long and mysterious path of the voice. Let's meet to learn together around this fascinating and multifaceted instrument, both the most universal and the most intimate. MY VISION OF TEACHING Trained as an opera singer, I have been teaching students of all ages and levels since 2015, individually or in small groups. I know the classical repertoire well, and also the so-called "old" music. But I'm interested in all styles: musical, variety, traditional... For me, teaching singing is: • stand next to the student, look with him what the obstacle is, and look together for solutions to overcome it. • always show kindness, empathy, patience, non-judgment. I ensure that these values are present in every lesson I give. COURSE DESCRIPTION Audience: adults, teenagers from around 16 years old. Course of a typical lesson: • 1st part: warm-up and technical exercises (posture, breathing, resonances) • 2nd part: work "in context" on a piece (recovery of technical elements, diction of the text, interpretation) Individual lessons or in small groups (2 to 4 people). If you have any special requests, please let me know. If you don't know how to read music (this is the case for a number of my students): that's not a problem! There are plenty of ways to learn and progress. MY MUSICAL CURRICULUM My background is quite eclectic: after a university course in art history and archeology in France, I studied at the Haute École de Musique de Genève-Neuchâtel where I obtained a Master's degree in Concert in lyrical singing. . I acquired, during my studies and my professional activity, a lot of experience of choral practice, and I was able to attend many choir conducting classes. Finally, I had the opportunity to specialize in early music: Gregorian chant, medieval music, Renaissance polyphonies, 16th and 17th century baroque music, ornamentation, notation, theoretical treatises, facsimile reading... In summary, I like things that are off the beaten track!

I think it is a very important part to find the freedom. I ike to create a lovely space when I teach where the student can find the support and the freedom to try out different things. I have a lot of patience, as a singer you need to be patient and to try again and again. Louis - Bern58Fr
Trusted teacher: Have you ever been surprised by the fact that a lyric singer with his voice can without a microphone fill a concert hall while passing through an orchestra? There is a very simple reason for this. The singer produces "harmonics" in his voice! Although it is difficult to explain, I would say that it is about a sound mass where the sound becomes almost matter! And to produce this, the singer sings in what is called, according to the baths of the teaching, the "Mask" or to be more precise in anatomical baths the "NasoPharynx" which is a space inside the head where the sound goes, a sound box to amplify the sound! It may sound surprising, but it is quite possible to learn this through vocal technique, and you might be surprised at yourself! By the vocal technique, I also mean the management of the breath, with a diaphragm that goes down very low, because the breath is the basis of singing! I accept any profile, beginner or experienced, musician or not! In any case, this practice can only bring you well being! I also accept to teach music theory, writing, and harmony!
