As a piano teacher, I have extensive experience with students of all ages and levels, as well as different music styles. I hold a Master's degree in Music in both piano performance and as a piano teacher. For the past 25 years, I have been teaching piano lessons (both individual and group lessons) at several music schools in the Netherlands, as well as private piano lessons in various European countries and the USA. I'm available for in-person piano lessons at your home or at my studio, but I can also teach online (via Zoom), if you prefer so. I speak fluent English, Spanish, German, Dutch, and basic Italian, so I can teach in all of these languages. As a concert pianist, I have made numerous concert tours as a soloist and played with renown orchestras in several countries, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, UK, and United Arab Emirates. Furthermore, I won prizes in several prestigious piano competitions, made various TV-, radio and album recordings, and attended masterclasses with world-renown pianists such as the master pianists Murray Perahia, Jacques Rouvier, Emanual Ax and Igor Roma. My piano lessons are for students of all ages and levels, who would like to learn or improve their piano playing. Although my background is in classical repertoire, I also have experience in teaching popular and film music, among other types of music. I love all kinds of music, and I'm definitely open to teaching you how to play your favorite songs. My lessons include learning and improving piano technique, reading sheet music (if not already mastered), playing by ear, music theory, musicality development, and fostering enjoyment in playing this beautiful instrument. The passion and pleasure of playing will quickly make you forget the minimum 1h30 of daily practice necessary for this beautiful and pleasant feat. This is the challenge I set myself by offering you these courses. Practicing classical guitar for 27 years, graduated from the National Conservatory of Limoges, I teach guitar (beginner to advanced levels). My method is distinguished by a perfect combination of high standards and attention paid to the pleasure of playing. Passionate about music theory (rhythms, musical notations and other aspects that seem tedious to many), I know how to transmit this taste for musical technique. The pleasure of play develops when you feel your progress, and these come with regular work. I therefore ask for attendance and regularity of at least 1 hour of practice per day. Depending on the students, the frequency of lessons can be bi-weekly or bi-monthly, and will be defined together, while remaining flexible. I can also advise you on the purchase of a classical guitar. Trusted teacher: I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard. My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instil a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student. Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you. A bit about me: Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK.
