This is the challenge I set myself by offering you these courses. Practicing classical guitar for 27 years, graduated from the National Conservatory of Limoges, I teach guitar (beginner to advanced levels). My method is distinguished by a perfect combination of high standards and attention paid to the pleasure of playing. Passionate about music theory (rhythms, musical notations and other aspects that seem tedious to many), I know how to transmit this taste for musical technique. The pleasure of play develops when you feel your progress, and these come with regular work. I therefore ask for attendance and regularity of at least 1 hour of practice per day. Depending on the students, the frequency of lessons can be bi-weekly or bi-monthly, and will be defined together, while remaining flexible. I can also advise you on the purchase of a classical guitar. Note: the practice of the classical guitar requires short nails on the left hand, and nails overflowing just beyond the tip of the finger, on the right hand, at all times. Trusted teacher: I teach Piano in a fun, laid-back and casual way, always structuring my lessons around the students' needs and tastes. Please note: I specifically do not teach piano with notations or scores of any sort. My method of teaching is based on playing by ear, with emphasis on the music and the joy in playing it, rather than the theory. Notation is great and theory is important - I studied these myself; however, I have found that learning an instrument by ear is a far deeper, enjoyable and progressive way to get to know your instrument. I also place importance on technique and memorization, again tailoring these to the needs and wishes of the student. My methods have proven very successful and I'm confident your playing will improve quickly! I teach both children and adults, teenagers and grandparents :-) Maybe you already play, but would like some help improving your improvisational skills? Or perhaps you are a complete beginner and just want to find out, if this instrument is for you? Get in touch! Some background to my instruments: Piano: I initially taught myself the piano and took lessons later on. My main or favourite styles on the piano are: Blues & Boogie Woogie, Traditional Jazz, Rock n' Roll, Pop and Soul. I love many forms of Classical music as well. Guitar: I taught myself guitar as a kid and play both acoustic and electric. My favourite styles on the guitar are, on the one hand, heavy Rock, Metal and Punk, and on the other gentle Jazz, Blues and ballads :-) Drums: this became my main gigging instrument between '10 and '20. Trusted teacher: After dedicating 14 years to mastering the guitar, I've developed a comprehensive understanding of guitar playing, encompassing both foundational techniques and advanced music theory. In these lessons, I'll be sharing the wealth of knowledge I've accumulated over this extensive period of learning. I will be covering a broad range of guitar techniques, including fingerpicking, strumming techniques, major and minor chords, power chords, barre chords, riffs, scales, finger warm-ups, practising any song of your choice, string bending, pull-offs, hammer-ons, harmonics, strumming patterns, and slides. All are provided with diagrams etc. For music theory, I will begin by covering the fundamentals, including notes, strings, and the musical 12-note chromatic scale alphabet on the guitar. As students progress, we will delve into more advanced topics such as tones, semitones, chord progressions, circle of fifths, scale formulas and chord terminology. Additionally, we will explore concepts like consonance and dissonance and pitch practice to develop relative pitch. (You have to be born with perfect pitch but you can learn relative pitch with practise!) Then advancing to jazz theory, we'll explore; jazz scale formulas, jazz chord progressions, swing techniques, major and minor 7th chords, major and minor 9th chords, dominant, augmented, half-diminished, diminished, sus2 and sus4 chords. And then jazz scales and the art of re-harmonising a song (changing the chords to jazz chords). All music theory will be intertwined with guitar practice as both can't be done without the other! One observation I've made while learning guitar through lessons is that information is often doled out incrementally, making it feel like a breadcrumb trail. Guitar knowledge and skills seem to be closely guarded and usually gatekept unless actively sought out. I strongly believe that the extensive knowledge I've acquired over 14 years of playing should be fruitfully shared in a more comprehensive and accessible manner, of course while being tailored to the pace of the students. In essence, I'm convinced that the depth of my understanding I've gained could be effectively conveyed and learnt within a two-year timeframe without including the time it takes to master the skill with practice, of course, I'd like to make it easier for people to learn the guitar and the theory behind it. I have also graduated with a distinction for my Music Performance and Production UAL Level 3 Course and have experience teaching guitar in London and Bristol before. The lessons will be taught in English so practising your English with me is also a plus, a foundational knowledge of English is required to take the lessons.

I started acoustic guitar lessons from zero and I have learned so much with Sergio, he is an excellent teacher, very knowledgeable and patient, he also encourage you to keep practicing to achieve your goals while providing you with very useful material to do it. I really recommend Sergio as a music teacher, he plays a lot of instruments. Zeljana is very good teacher. She immediately found flows in my guitar technique during first lesson, which I know that I'm doing, but it was too uncomfortable for me to change my bad habits before. She shows me the best ways how to improve over it. After first lesson I can already feel that I can progress enourmously with her tutoring. Lesson are very comfortable. You don't need to feel nervous at all. Finally I can very recommend Zeljana.
