Practical Chess Mastery for Beginners & Intermediates ♟️ Course Overview Are you stuck in the 800–1200 rating range? Do you find yourself winning a great position only to blunder it away in the endgame? This course is designed to bridge the gap between "moving the pieces" and playing real chess. Led by Andrei Daniel, an active competitive player in the Romanian chess circuit, this course focuses on the practical skills you need to stop losing to yourself and start beating your opponents. Unlike courses by Super GMs that focus on complex theory you’ll never use, we focus on the 1600-level fundamentals that actually decide games at the club level. 👨‍🏫 About Your Instructor Andrei Daniel is not just an online player; he is a battle-tested tournament competitor. Arena FIDE Master (AFM): Officially recognized title by the World Chess Federation. Active Club Player: Regular competitor in Romanian national leagues and tournaments. Practical Experience: With a playing strength of ~2300, Andrei specializes in the exact transition phase where most players get stuck: moving from beginner intuition to intermediate calculation. 🚀 What You Will Learn This course is divided into two tracks depending on your current level: Track 1: The Foundation (Rating 400 – 1000) Stop the Bleeding: How to perform a "Blunder Check" before every move. Opening Principles > Memorization: Why controlling the center matters more than memorizing 15 moves of theory. Tactical Vision: Spotting the forks, pins, and skewers that win games instantly. The "Checkmate Pattern" Library: Essential mating nets every beginner must know. Track 2: The Club Player (Rating 1000 – 1500) Thinking Like a Tournament Player: How to calculate variations without getting confused. Positional Squeeze: Creating long-term weaknesses in your opponent's camp when there are no immediate tactics. Endgame Essentials: King activity, opposition, and how to convert a pawn-up advantage into a win. Opening Repertoire: Building a solid, low-maintenance opening set for White and Black (e.g., London System, Caro-Kann, or similar solid structures). 💡 Why This Course? Real-Game Analysis: We won't just study famous games from the 1800s. We will analyze your games to find your specific bad habits. Psychology of Chess: Learn how to handle time pressure and recover from a bad loss. Direct Feedback: Get personalized advice from a coach who plays competitively in the modern era. 🎓 Who Is This For? Beginners who know the rules but don't have a plan. Online Players (Chess.com/Lichess) who want to cross the 1200 or 1500 Elo barrier. Adult Improvers looking for a structured, no-nonsense approach to learning. Ready to Level Up? Stop playing on autopilot. Join Andrei Daniel and build the foundation for a lifetime of better chess.

Trusted teacher: Premium Tutoring in Computer Science: Go Beyond Coding to Deep Understanding. My method is rooted in the Feynman Technique: I don't just teach the material; I internalize concepts until I can explain them to anyone, intuitively connecting new knowledge to your existing foundations. This approach transforms complex topics like Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Data Structures into clear, actionable logic. I am committed to creating a comfortable, encouraging environment focused on active learning and real-world application. My goal is to equip you not just with code, but with the logical thinking and debugging prowess of a professional Software Engineer. Proven Credentials and Real-World Results: University-Grade Expertise: I served as a Teaching Assistant at Zewail University, specializing in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) using C++. My role was to develop effective teaching methods, guide step-by-step project implementation, and coach students in advanced debugging and logical programming thinking. Advanced Curricula Mastery: I have successfully prepared students for high-stakes exams and competitions, including AP Computer Science (using Java) and USACO (Competitive Programming), helping them achieve excellent grades and proficiency in complex analysis and coding. Rapid Mastery Success: Recently, I helped a Master’s student with zero OOP knowledge successfully learn C++ foundations in less than four lessons to complete a complex Computer Vision project on time, guiding him through debugging and applying software design principles. My Student-Centered 4-Phase Learning System: Phase 1: Diagnostic Assessment: Our early sessions focus on identifying your current knowledge base and, crucially, your most effective individual learning style. Phase 2: Intuitive Linkage: We use the Feynman-style approach to link new programming concepts (OOP, Data Structures, Algorithms) to familiar knowledge, making the learning process intuitive and enjoyable. Phase 3: Practice & Debugging: I emphasize practice, error discovery, and best coding practices. I provide AP-style practice materials and competitive programming challenges to build proficiency in analysis and solution writing. Phase 4: Real-World Application & Review: We constantly search for the use cases of what you are learning to make the concepts meaningful. We conclude with exam revision and strategic preparation to ensure you are ready to achieve great grades.

I am a certified chess teacher based in Berlin (DOSB-Trainerin C Leistungssport) and a former competitive player, holding the title of Candidate Master in Russia (FIDE peak 1974). I have taught in schools and privately for many years, working with students from complete beginners up to club-level players. I teach in several languages, and I offer lessons for both children and adults, with each class adapted to the student’s level and goals. For kids, my lessons are friendly, motivating, and easy to follow, especially if they are just discovering the game. I focus on building good habits, clear thinking, and a genuine enjoyment of chess. For adults or more advanced young competitive players, my main focus is tactics, variation calculation, strategic play and ideas, endgames, as well as developing a solid understanding of openings at beginner and intermediate levels. Lessons can be taken one-on-one or in small groups, and parent-and-child sessions are also possible. Depending on where you are located, we can meet online or in person. Every program is tailored individually, whether you’re an adult looking to improve your game or a child taking their first steps in chess. Chess is a wonderful lifelong game. Whether you’re learning for personal growth or looking for lessons for your child, it offers many benefits: improved memory, concentration, logic, patience, critical thinking, and problem-solving. It also provides a calm, fun, and socially engaging environment where students can meet new people and build confidence. If you or your child would like to begin or continue your chess journey, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to answer questions and help you find the right learning plan.
