Trusted teacher: PROFESSIONAL GUITARIST, COMPOSER, MUSIC AND GUITAR TEACHER Beginner-Advanced Level Experience: I am a professional musician and have been teaching students of all ages for over 20 years. My experience as a teacher and my pursuit of self-improvement as a musician have led me to develop an effective method that I have already tested with over a hundred students. Throughout my career I had the satisfaction of studying with great masters of different specialties or styles, each one emphasizing different aspects of flamenco, classical or modern guitar and each one has given me their approach (technique, rhythms, accompaniment, harmony, etc.), which has led me after years of study and compilation to take the best from each one to develop my method. My role in my classes is more that of a personal trainer than a teacher, where I will be very attentive to bringing out the best in my students, finding the right technique to help them develop a good rhythm, working on their rhythm, etc. For me, the role of a teacher, in addition to teaching, is to be part of a team, to maintain morale and constantly improve oneself while always maintaining a love for music. Methodology: I tailor the lessons to the student's level, style, or goals. Generally, the first half of the lesson is dedicated to technique, focusing on proper placement, execution, and relaxation, which will result in a good sound. Over time, I've realized that it's also a way to connect with the guitar, concentrate, and warm up. So, little by little, we'll develop our routine, which will begin by working on basic rhythmic aspects. The second half is dedicated to playing, trying to put into practice what we learned about the technique with the sticks or studying other concerns of the student, which may be a theme, harmony, falsetas, improvisation, or even other styles, etc., always obviously taking into account the search or interest of the student. FLAMENCO - Flamenco technique - Palos (Tangos, Bulerías, Alegrías, Soleá, Taranta...) - Accompaniment to singing and dancing - Clapping and rhythms MODERN GUITAR - Harmony - Improvisation - Repertoire (rumbas, pop, jazz, rock, etc.) CLASSIC - Reading, solfège and interpretation. - Works - I work with progressive learning books

Trusted teacher: I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard. My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instill a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student. Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you. A bit about me: Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'. The video shown below is from my stint playing and directing 'After Midnight', a show set to the music of the Duke Ellington Big Band.

Jazz piano is more than learning songs — it’s learning a musical language that gives you the freedom to express yourself, create, improvise, and truly understand how music works. In these lessons, students don’t just learn what to play. They learn how music functions, why chords move the way they do, and how to confidently create their own sound at the piano. Whether you are brand new to jazz or looking to deepen your musicianship, these lessons meet you where you are and guide you into a rich, creative, and empowering musical experience. Students learn the foundations of jazz harmony, how to read and interpret lead sheets, and how to build confident improvisation using scales, modes, and melodic ideas. They develop strong left-hand voicing and comping skills, learn to play jazz standards with musicality, and strengthen their ear so they can play without relying on sheet music. Along the way, they explore how jazz connects to gospel, blues, and contemporary styles, gaining tools to reharmonize songs and create their own arrangements. In lessons, students experience a supportive, personalized environment that encourages creativity and confidence at the piano. They begin to feel ownership of the instrument, discovering the joy of musical freedom rather than simply reading notes. With guidance from a professional jazz pianist and educator, they build skills they can use in performances, church, school, or personal playing while developing a deeper understanding of how music truly works

Learn music through play and improvisation from the very first lesson I offer music lessons open to all levels, from complete beginners to more experienced musicians. My teaching approach is based on a simple idea: enjoyment is the driving force behind learning. That is why instrumental technique and music theory are applied directly through playing, rather than through an accumulation of exercises disconnected from real musical practice. A highly personalized and adaptable approach I do not follow a rigid method or offer identical programs for everyone. Each student’s individuality is highlighted and enhanced rather than suppressed to fit into a fixed framework. Every student progresses through the music they love and want to play. Rather than studying theoretical concepts in the abstract, we approach them only when they directly support the music currently being learned. The goal is to create a direct connection between what is learned and what is played. My intention is for students to gradually discover and build their own way of learning and playing, leading toward independence in musical learning and exploration. ⸻ Instruments and areas taught I offer: • Improvisation for all instruments and all styles • Instrumental technique for clarinet, guitar, and ukulele • Composition guidance • Foundations of harmony applied to practical playing ⸻ Typical lesson structure Each lesson is based on a piece of music or a concrete musical support. The work may include: • Simple analysis of the piece to guide the learning process • Work on phrasing, rhythm, harmony, tone, and musical expression • Immediate application through playing and improvisation The goal is to improve while staying connected to real music and the pleasure of playing. ⸻ Who are these lessons for? These lessons are suitable for: • Beginners who want to start playing quickly • Amateur musicians who want to learn improvisation • People looking for a freer and more creative approach • Musicians who want to progress without a strictly academic teaching style ⸻ My goal To help you develop your musical expression and find your own way of playing and learning.

In my lessons, we work deeply on harmonic analysis, counterpoint, and musical structure across the full spectrum of academic music from all historical periods, as well as jazz and popular music. A central pillar of the classes is the analysis of composers, which we approach as an essential tool for understanding musical language and developing a personal creative voice. Depending on the student’s interests, analysis may range from Mozart to Debussy, or from Beethoven to Bartók, among many others. A strong emphasis is placed on counterpoint from all historical periods. I assist students with conservatory-level exercises, and we study contrapuntal techniques through the analysis and practice of Bach’s inventions and fugues, Renaissance counterpoint, and 20th-century contrapuntal approaches. In composition classes, the content is fully adapted to the student’s creative needs and goals. The focus is on developing practical creative tools that support original thinking, with the clear objective of composing original pieces of short, medium, and long duration, tailored to each student’s artistic direction. For orchestration, we explore writing techniques for a wide range of ensembles, including chamber music, full orchestra, and popular music formations such as quartets, quintets, big band, and tango orchestras. Particular attention is given to instrumental color, balance, articulation, and idiomatic writing. As an Argentinian composer and educator, I offer a specialized perspective on tango, including in-depth analysis of composers such as Astor Piazzolla, as well as composition and orchestration techniques related to tango. Due to the geographical and cultural proximity, I also offer classes focused on Bossa Nova, exploring its harmonic language, rhythmic structures, and stylistic characteristics. Lessons are suitable for students at different levels, from beginners to advanced musicians, and are tailored to individual academic, professional, or creative goals.

I had previously played some classical for a few years, but was looking to learn jazz piano and improvisation as well. For this David is ideal, as he studied both as a classical and jazz musician, and has a deep understanding of each. About half the lessons we focus on jazz improvisation. During the lessons I improvise over a few songs, and each session he gives feedback, while adding a new layer of difficulty. We've also worked a lot on rhythm, which has really helped me bridge the gap between classical and jazz. We spent a few lessons on classical pieces as well, to refine technique and musicality. My playing feels much more fluid and musical already, and he's really helpful/knowledgeable with the details. Also, on the weeks where I did have not had much time to practice, we do a more (jazz) theory oriented lesson, which has also helped alot with my improvisation. Overall, I only have positive things to say about the lessons! David is a very easy-going teacher, and from the first lesson I felt very comfortable asking him questions. He's very versatile as well, and easily adapts the lesson according to what suits us best that week.

Stefano

Not just a singing teacher, but by the way also the best vocal coach you can get hold of at this moment and in this area of the Netherlands (so take your chance...;-)). For about 3 years I had a serious problem with my vocal chords (incomplete closure) and a dislocated larynx. I started to be in contact with Stefano by chance asking him to show me some (singing) exercises additionally to my treatment at the ENT-department of Martini Ziekenhuis Groningen as well as an ongoing therapy at a professional trained speech therapist. To cut a long story short: Within a couple of lessons and dedicated exercises he succeeded in re-positioning my larynx and got rid of my incomplete vocal cords closure, meanwhile the medical specialists had decided that the only cure could possibly be an operation... As a ‘side-effect’ I am now able to sing and control my voice like I have never been able before and could never have imagined that this was possible to achieve by just some simple but individually chosen exercises and practice. Grazie!
