I have teaching experience of 5+ years in Physics and Mathematics to both high school and university-level students. This class aims to provide an overview of calculus and linear algebra and focuses on the fundamental mathematical tools and concepts, such as limits, differentiation, and integration. Building on these basic concepts, we will review methods for solving problems related to optimization, linear differential equations, and matrix algebra. Outline of the course: 1. Calculus: 1.1 Limits of functions 1.2 Continuity, types of discontinuities, intermediate value theorem 1.3 Differentiation (or derivative), slope, secant, tangent 1.4 Rules and theorems for differentiation, power rule, product rule, chain rule 1.5 Derivatives of exp, log, and trigonometric functions 1.6 Implicit differentiation and derivative of inverse functions 1.7 Rolle's theorem, mean value theorem, critical point, maximum/minimum of a function 1.8 First and second derivative tests, inflection points 1.9 Anti-derivative, indefinite integral, integration by substitution, integration by parts 1.10 Definite integral and its application (area between curves, application in physics)\ 1.11 Optimization and linear differential equations 2. Linear Algebra: 2.1 Vectors and scalars in Euclidean space, vector arithmetic, scalar product, cross product 2.2 Equations for lines and planes, vector spaces, linear independence, span, basis, dimension 2.3 Linear transformations, coordinates, and representation of linear transformations by matrices 2.4 Matrix operations: matrix multiplication, transpose, determinant, inverse, and Hermitian conjugate 2.5 Systems of linear equations, Gaussian elimination 2.6 Eigenvalues and eigenvectors 2.7 Range, kernel, and rank-nullity theorem and many more... *Note that the sessions will be held online (via Discord/Zoom/Microsoft Teams).

Trusted teacher: I have graduated with a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Edinburgh, UK. I am also an Erasmus Mundus scholar with a master's in Analytical Chemistry from Uppsala University. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in physical chemistry. I have been tutoring since 2012 to fund my education expenses. I formally began tutoring in 2014 as part of my vocational training as a teacher in Ghana, funded by the University of Edinburgh. The formal training has taught me a lot about curriculum development, time management, and fusing my teaching methodology to my students’ needs. I have been tutoring in Physics, Chemistry, and Math, in person and online; the hybrid model has allowed me to reach out and teach students in 8 different countries. I have successful students from these past nine years who have not only commended my work ethic but can also stand testament to my enthusiasm. My excellent academic career has nurtured in me a natural talent for teaching. My experiences have taught me how to tackle one problem at a time, and I believe that using this approach—paired with my unconventional examples that force students to think outside the box—I can truly provide an excellent understanding and explanation. My teaching methodology is based on two main things: skill development and adaptation. Initially, I create a skeleton of the most suitable methodology tailored to the preferred curriculum, after which, I adapt that lecture to the specific needs of the student based on their knowledge and grasp of the concepts. Second, I like to develop analytical and scientific ability along with knowledge in my students, and for that, I use a combination of resources in the form of worksheets, class tasks, and past papers. Last, I believe in the strong ethic of providing feedback to the parents, so that they are aware of their child’s progress. Frequently Asked Questions: Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach math, mechanics, statistics, chemistry and physics. I also teach biology up to GCSE level. When are you available? My timetable is quite flexible. I am happy to work weekdays, week evening and weekends. Which ages and levels do you teach? The majority of my students are between the ages of 10-18, but I also teach college Students. I am also helping foundation and first year university students. Which qualifications do you prepare your students for? GCSE, IGCSE, A/S-level, A-level, IB, School entrance exams and SATs Describe your arrangements for online tutoring? I use Zoom online sessions since it has many tools and features specially designed for interactive and visual learning. I am fully equipped with modern gadgets for e-learning. I use Google drive and docs to share files.

My daughter had private tutoring for the Physics CCVX exam with Bibek, and we are extremely pleased with the experience. Bibek is a very knowledgeable, patient, and understanding tutor who truly focuses on the individual needs of the student. He adapts his teaching methods according to the student’s level and learning style, which helped my daughter gain confidence and improve her understanding of difficult concepts. Bibek was highly motivating and supportive throughout the process, encouraging her to stay focused and positive even under pressure. My daughter had a very tight deadline to pass the exam, and Bibek handled this challenge with excellent organisation and clear planning. He structured the lessons efficiently, prioritised key topics, and ensured that time was used effectively. Thanks to his guidance and dedication, my daughter was able to achieve her goal within a limited timeframe. Bibek demonstrates all the important qualities of a great tutor: strong subject knowledge, adaptability, clear communication, motivation, organisation, and genuine commitment to the student’s success. I would highly recommend him to any student looking for high-quality physics tutoring.

Superb experience with Dr S Iyer. Very easy to schedule, responsive, preparation before class and follow up after class. He helped my child understand concepts that were unclear, he has profound knowledge of the subject, he knows how to get my child interested and it helps to learn when one is engaged, I was present in the room during parts of the lessons and I could see he cares about my child liking what he is teaching, but is also focused on making sure she gets it. Via zoom it is very easy to have the lesson. Thank you very much Dr. S Iyer!
