Trusted teacher: Hi there, I'm a professional violin and viola teacher, teaching in person and online, in English, German or Russian. Alongside teaching 1:1 and coaching chamber music over the last 12 years, I've led numerous workshops, including ‘Music First’ and ‘Music Masters’ in the UK and taught on the Primary and Senior Arpeggione Viola Courses run by Jacky Woods, coaching some of the UK’s leading young musicians. As a member of the European String Teachers’ Association, I have participated in ESTA conferences across Europe, including at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, and in Valletta, Europe’s cultural capital in 2018. ​I regularly prepare his students for auditions, competitions and exams at all levels, and has a holistic teaching style incorporating music theory, aural and sight reading skills and physical awareness. Many of my students have won regional and national competitions and have been accepted into specialist music schools and youth orchestras. Outside of teaching, I performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, recently including at Kings Place London, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and Philharmonie Berlin. I received first prize at the Małopolska competition, the Barbirolli Prize at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition and the Len Lickorish Memorial Prize at the Royal Overseas League International Strings Competition. I hold a Masters degree with first class honours from the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, where I studied with Tabea Zimmermann, and the University of Arts, where I studied with Lawrence Power, as well as a Bachelors degree with the same distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London, where I began in the primary department 20 years ago. Trusted teacher: After successfully completing his music studies (Music Bachelor), he won a grant from the Brazilian government and emigrated to the Netherlands to take up postgraduate studies at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Prof. Vladimir Mendelssohn. He received his Masters in Solo Performance and Chamber Music with Honors. His diverse musical activities have taken him - both as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher - on concert tours to Brazil, Portugal, France, Germany, Austria, Eastern Europe, North Africa and Asia. Jadenir lived in Vienna from 2007 to 2016. There he performed between 2005 and 2010 as principal violist of the “Spirit of Europe” chamber orchestra, in which he was also a member of the artistic advisory board and was involved in planning-relevant decisions on artistic and organizational issues. He also played in the RSO Vienna and the Ambassade Orchestra Vienna. Jadenir has lived and worked in Berlin since 2016. With chamber music as the center of his life, he founded several ensembles with different line-ups in 2017. In addition to his artistic activity, viola lessons have been an important part of his life for many years. As a viola teacher, he has been in close contact with music festivals and music schools since 2007, especially those that are dedicated to social projects. About my viola lessons I offer dynamic and playful lessons. The goal of my lessons is to break the barrier between music and technology, so these are not taught separately from each other. I convey all kinds of music, their style and technique. I am happy to help advanced students prepare for entrance exams, auditions, auditions and competitions. I also offer coaching for chamber music ensembles. The key to successful viola lessons lies in a transparent and open exchange: I therefore encourage the students to share their needs and expectations; and the family is also involved in their musical development. My two main instruments were made especially for me and I was able to exchange ideas with the violin makers during the instrument making, which gave me extensive knowledge of the manufacture, setup and care of a string instrument. Toby is an outstanding instructor and works with children very naturally. My 11 year old son has been taking lessons with Toby for over two months and is eager for each lesson. Toby is extremely talented, but beyond that, he engages my son deeply with the music itself, fundamental techniques, music theory, and even the interpretation of the music. Toby is kind, encouraging, and works with students at a level that is appropriate. He has allowed my son to chose music that if fun and interesting to practice, even though the pieces are challenging. We are located many time zones away from Toby, and the virtual lessons do not hinder our experience with him. In fact, I often sit in to listen to the lessons, as they are so good. My son has had a couple of lessons with Toby while company has been over, and everyone has commented on how amazing Toby is as an instructor. I can not recommend Toby enough and hope to continue lessons with him for a long time.

Estella is a very positive, always happy teacher. Even though my son has been having on-line lessons with her, we can always feel her positive attitude during the lessons. She is very patient, gives lots of important tips and feedback, which has been helping him to guide his learning, improving in every aspect of it. We can see how much she care about the whole learning experience. It’s been very useful to expend his time while at home doing the lessons. He has been practicing more and has been feeling more motivated since he started the lessons with her. We definitely recommend her as a Saxophone teacher!

As a very beginner with a violin, I would recommend Alice 11 times out of 10 ! She is an excellent professional, thanks to whom I was able to notice clear progress from one session to the next. Thanks to her advice, her corrections and her music theory notions, I could produce a satisfactory sound with my violin ! She is, in my opinion, an excellent teacher !
