I am a Vietnamese native (born and raised in Hanoi) who has lived in the UK for 2 years, and now in my 8th year living in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I am currently working full-time at an international Dutch company and tutoring Vietnamese is my favorite hobby!

This class will introduce you to various aspects of the Vietnamese alphabet, grammar, and spelling. I will also provide speaking practice at the end of every class. This class is designed for those of you who are interested in the Vietnamese language, as well as Vietnamese culture.

New vocabulary for each topic will be discussed. My study background is in Mathematics and Statistics, thus with the combination of languages you can expect 'a bit' of reasoning logic behind all lessons I give (which I think gives some structure to the lessons as well)!

In 2023, I've obtained a Master degree in Linguistics at the University of Amsterdam. I've achieved the C1+ levels in English, on the CEFR scale. French is of course a beautiful, lilting language. Who doesn't want to learn it? I'd be happy to help you with that. In our minds we are already going on a trip to France and practice the situations you will encounter there. Depending on your goals and your level, we can go in all directions. Do you finally want to be able to have a conversation with the locals during the holidays? Then we work on that.
Do you have a house in France and you want to be able to talk to all handymen, then we will get to work.
And if you do a lot of business with French-speaking countries, we will choose a business French method and practice with the situations in which you need the language.
In short, we can go in all directions!
Because French is such a lilting language and the pronunciation is sometimes difficult, I like to work with chansons. By singing along you learn the pronunciation naturally and the lyrics of the songs can be the basis for a grammatical topic or a social topic to talk about. I am also working on a course based on the chanson. I'd be happy to tell you more about this.
