Or if you leave too far, I can come to your place. My name is Matteo and I am an Italian flutist and musicologist, based in Brussels since 2010. I graduated in modern flute at 'B. Marcello' Conservatory in Venice and at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels with Barthold Kuijken and Frank Theuns in the Baroque flute. I hold a master degree in Philosophy and Musicology as well. I hold a PhD degree in music performance at Cardiff University, School of Music. From 2013 till 2015, I have been teaching at the Venice Conservatory "B. Marcello", giving yearly lectures and seminaries on the historical repertoire for the flute. Since 2021, I have been appointed music curator of Coudenberg Sound Box Fest, a music festival which aims at celebrating the Belgian music heritage and takes place every year at the beautiful archeological site of the former Royal Palace of Brussels. I recorded for Warner Classics & Erato, and a soloist for Arcana/Outhere Music ('La solitude à deux. Solos and duets by G. P. Telemann' in 2018 and 'Affect is no Crime. New music for old instruments' in 2019). I regularly play with leading ensembles and orchestras such as Millennium Orchestra (Leonardo Garcia Alarcon), Vox Luminis (Lionel Meunier), Les Muffatti (Peter van Heyghen), Coro & Orchestra Ghislieri (Giulio Prandi), Le Concert d'Anvers (Bart van Reyn), B.O.X. I was principal flute at the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Warsaw (Poland) and have over 45 years of experience teaching repertoire, solo, chamber music and orchestra. Over the years I have developed my method of Conscious Flute Playing, which has allowed me and my students to make the flute sing as we wish. Thanks to this we can learn music theory passively as we go through the pieces. There is also the opportunity to participate in student concerts in Brussels twice a year (December and June). I am a professional flutist with over 5 years of experience in teaching. I have worked with people aged 5 to 75 and taught in five different languages: English, German, Ukrainian, Polish, and French. I hold a pedagogical qualification from the Academy of Music in Krakow, where I obtained a Master's degree with distinction in flute performance. Recently, I graduated from the Conservatoire Royal de Liège, where I earned a specialized Master's degree in flute and piccolo. With my help, my students have become first prize winners in competitions like the renowned "Jugend musiziert" in Germany. They have also prepared for playing in youth orchestras such as Das Bayerische Landesjugendorchester or worked on repertoire for different kinds of concerts. As a teacher, I am very flexible and always strive to adapt to the needs of my students. I am passionate about the flute and music in general, and I greatly enjoy sharing my knowledge with others.

I offer private flute lessons at home, from beginner to advanced level, for all ages. I have a degree in Pedagogy and Didactics (Royal Conservatory of Mons), Transverse Flute (Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel) and Piccolo (Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel). In September 2023 I won 2nd prize at the Gazzelloni International Flute Competition, and from August 2024 I am part of the Académie de la Monnaie / De Munt and the National Orchestra of Belgium, with whom I will play several concerts during the 2024/2025 season. A brief overview of my teaching experience: - From December 2023 to April 2024, I completed 90 hours of internship at the Music Academies of Braine L'Alleud and Auderghem. - Since September 2022, I have been teaching flute at the European School of Brussels. - From 2021 to 2022, I taught flute, musical initiation and piano in a private music school in Waterloo. - In July 2020 I obtained my teaching qualification in Italy by obtaining the 24 CFU required for teaching in Pedagogy, Psychology of Learning and Assessment Methods and Techniques. - From 2015 to 2017 I assisted my former teacher Vincenzo Gallo at the "G.
