I'm now back in Belgium for some new musical adventures, as well as to meet new students. I welcome students from the age of four to adults. I have a real passion for transmitting my love of music, and I like to have a creative, playful and holistic approach to teaching. I also play the piano and often use it for aural training or to accompany my students (or do violin duets). I do believe that music is not just for competitions or exams but a skill for life that can bring tremendous joy, discoveries, friends and fun along the way. Learning an instrument is also a great way to foster different qualities such as patience, diligence, presence, resilience, deep listening and the ability to express and share our emotions with others. Having explored many different violin methods and styles, I take a different approach according to each student. I like to teach a solid classical technique with some scales, studies and pieces, but there are many different ways to make music enjoyable or find other paths depending on the student's goal. Although I was trained classically in Belgian Conservatoires and the Guildhall School of Music, I do like to teach a variety of music that is not just classical (Celtic, world, klezmer, jazz, tango, film music, pop...). I often encourage my students to compose or improvise freely. In the last two decades, I have led many youth orchestras and violin workshops and worked for many different primary and secondary schools in England. I recently started taking violin lessons from Christian. As someone who has 0 experience with the violin, or any other instrument for that matter, I was a bit nervous but excited. Despite my total lack of experience, Christian is incredibly patient, he never rushes me and always takes the time to answer my questions, no matter how basic. We started with the absolute basics, which is exactly what I needed. He finds a way to explain complicated things in a way that makes sense to me, which makes the whole process less intimidating. His teaching style is perfect for someone like me, coming into music with no background. I wholeheartedly recommend Christian to anyone who's been thinking about picking up the violin! His patience, expertise, insightfulness and supportive nature have made my start in music both enjoyable and fulfilling. Bonus points for speaking English.

Estella is a very positive, always happy teacher. Even though my son has been having on-line lessons with her, we can always feel her positive attitude during the lessons. She is very patient, gives lots of important tips and feedback, which has been helping him to guide his learning, improving in every aspect of it. We can see how much she care about the whole learning experience. It’s been very useful to expend his time while at home doing the lessons. He has been practicing more and has been feeling more motivated since he started the lessons with her. We definitely recommend her as a Saxophone teacher!
