Trusted teacher: I studied maths at GCSE, A-Level and first year University, achieving an A*, A and passed respectively. I left maths after completing first year to study my passion in politics and philosophy. I have privately tutored maths for 3 years, focusing upon students who struggle with maths and only wish to acquire a good grade at GCSE before leaving maths behind. Previous students have struggled with learning difficulties such as dyscalculia and dyspraxia, but ultimately achieved the grades they required. I teach students directly off their own needs. My first session will include a thorough analysis of the strengths and weaknesses within maths before lessons being structured around that. Lessons will follow the specifications of the student's examination board so that all lessons are completely geared towards passing exams, with no extra time spent on topics which fall outside of exactly what is required. Ordinary lesson structures often follow the form of first understanding the theory of the topic, before working through examples of increasing difficulty. The lesson will usually be concluded with a test using examination examples. Heavy emphasis on past papers is used if exams are in the vicinity. The style of the teaching will be (very) informal in nature, as a result this makes the learning process more enjoyable for students as they will often be asked to do things which normal teachers will not ask them to do, this is including but not limited to: chocolates/sweets for good results, forfeits (not punishments) for not doing required homework etc. As a result of my informal style, I only ask that students who choose to study with me to be engaged with what is going on and wanting to learn. This style doesn't work for those who are being forced into tutoring. Finally, thanks to the combination of my expertise with those who do not like maths and my informal style, I will often look for real life examples in the maths so to make it much easier to remember. Algebra will be reduced to apples and bananas, complex fractions to pizza slices etc

Trusted teacher: Welcome Student, As a graduate of the Bachelor's program in Mathematics and Computer Science and the Master's program in Mathematics, I've noticed that many students struggle with many subjects. These are often also the most crucial for their progress, as many future courses build on them. If you're a Bachelor's student facing the same challenge, you've come to the right place. We'll review the material together and work towards your exams, so you can confidently take them. From a 'birds-eye view', many of these courses clearly have specific types of assignments that you must be able to pass your exam. We pick out these kinds of assignments and we will train you together in order to master them. In addition, we will counteract your weaknesses by going through assignments and theory about it. To give you a clear idea of which courses I've taken and how I can help you, I've included a list of my completed university courses below (all with a grade of 7 or higher). Note that I studied in Utrecht myself, so your courses may be titled differently. Math - Proofs in Mathematics - Infinitesimal Calculation and Linear Algebra 1 - Introduction to Probability Theory and Statistics - Infinitesimal Calculation and Linear Algebra 2 - Analysis - Introduction to Geometry - Introduction Groups and Rings - Introduction Analysis in More Variables - Introduction to Topology - Functions and Sequences - Discrete Mathematics - Topology and Geometry - Introduction to Scientific Computing - Analysis in More Variables - Differentiable Varieties - Groups, Modules and Shows - Thesis Computer science - Computer architecture and Networks - Imperative Programming - Functional Programming (Haskell) - Introduction Project - Databases - Data structures Graphics - Optimization and Complexity - Languages and Compilers - Competition - Modeling and System Development - Software Testing and Verification - Image processing - Software project If you are not sure if I can help you, you can always send me a message! Haralambie

Haralambie has provided incredible support throughout our sessions in a variety of challenging areas of mathematics. The breadth of Haralambie's expertise is evident in the many ways he can demonstrate the idea. I have benefitted from Haralambie's clarity in showing the relevance of specific theorems and how they connect with upcoming material. I have learned a lot from our sessions and he marries the conceptual gaps that come up by explaining the ideas and properties very well. Haralambie provides guidance, patience, and context to the topics covered in subjects that are otherwise disorienting. We work together to hammer out a conceptual stump. My learning experience with Haralambie is fun and engaging, and his input and guidance has been incredibly helpful in elucidating areas that I have missed which improves my approach to future problems.
