Dominyka is a professional singer, singing and piano teacher that is currently based in The Hague. She plays piano, violin and writes her own music. Over the past decade she graduated from the Royal Conservatory in The Netherlands with Bachelor's and Master's degree in jazz singing and in pedagogical minor studies. She had a chance to participate in various music festivals as a singer, have concerts of her own, be behind the scenes in various TV shows, win several vocal competitions, and she truly developed her ears and her knowledge that she is now also able to help others to find their own unique singing voice. She has developed her knowledge about vocal technique, CVT method, stage presence, body language, story telling, composition, writing, improvisation, and so on. with various great teachers from all over the world. As well as, she had an honour to participate in workshops of Snarky Puppy, Dianne Reeves, Dena DeRose, Bob Stoloff, Norma Winstone, Fay Classon, etc. In addition, she took a course of Stevie Mackey, Cheryl Porter and had lessons with Natalie Weiss. Welcome to my introduction site! My name is Marta and music has been a great love and passion for my entire life. Singing lessons are not only an opportunity to learn singing and something new about music but also an opportunity to express emotions, forget about everyday worries, and have fun! Through music theory lessons you can learn about the structure of music and also develop some very useful music skills such as reading music (sight-singing or sight-reading). All students who have a specific goal in mind, but also all who do not have any specific goal in mind and want to sing or learn theory just for fun, are very welcome! Different options for lessons which I am offering are described below and all of them can be modified and adjusted according to the wishes and needs of the student: SINGING LESSONS FOR CHILDREN (individual or group lessons - maximum 10 students*) Singing lessons for children is basically an integrated method that combines singing with solfeggio, developing basic music theory skills. It consists of playing musical games and singing children's songs and through those developing intonation, musical hearing, musical memory, sense for pulse and rhythm, all with the attention to healthy singing. SINGING LESSONS FOR TEENAGERS AND ADULTS (individual or group lessons - maximum 10 students*) During singing lessons we will be searching for a deeper meaning of the story and different ways of interpretation, with attention to healthy singing technique, pronunciation and style. The lessons consist of breathing exercises, vocal warm up exercises with a specific technical goal and work on the desired repertoire - meaning of the words and story, vocal technique, pronunciation, interpretation and style. My specialization is in classical singing but I don’t mind working on other genres in my classes. SIGHT SINGING LESSONS (individual or group lessons) Intense course where you will be learning how to read music at sight. The lessons consist of sight singing only, beginning from the easiest level and gradually learning how to read more and more difficult music. You will develop skills needed for sight singing as well as a certain way of thinking appropriate for sight singing. (There is no technique of singing or interpretation involved in these lessons.) SOLFEGGIO LESSONS (individual or group lessons, for children from 8 years old, teenagers and adults) In these lessons you will learn how to bring the written music to life (sight singing), how to discover and put on paper the music you hear (musical dictation) and how to build scales, intervals, and chords. This knowledge is needed and examined on every conservatoire and music academy. For some conservatoires and academies this is an obligatory pre-requirement and elimination factor on entrance exams. It is inevitable part of every professional music education. MUSIC THEORY LESSONS (individual lessons) Music theory lessons can include, if desired: solfeggio, harmony, counterpoint, music form, analysis, and/or other music theory related subjects. For each subject we can make a special program, depending on the wishes and needs of the student. COMBINED SOLFEGGIO AND SINGING LESSONS Combined solfeggio and singing lessons are also possible for adults, as separate subjects or integrated with singing lessons. In both cases the duration of each lesson is 90 minutes and the program is discussed and created based on the wishes and needs of the student. (A combination of individual singing lesson and a group solfeggio lesson is also possible.*) AUDITION TRAINING AND PREPARATION FOR EXAMS (individual lessons) Preparation for auditions concerning singing and/or music theory includes preparation for entrance exams, regular exams on conservatories or preparation for ABRSM exams. *Please, contact me for more information about group lessons. I specialize in Vocal Training in English for children and adults. My goal is to make vocal training fun and relatable to the student's age and music preference. I like to keep students challenged but not overwhelmed. I assign homework and provide progress reports. The class is for aspiring singers or 'shower singers' who just want to have a creative outlet! The present course is tutored by a Classical Singer and a Classical Pianist, both study connected to the Royal Conservatory Den Haag. It is preferred to work weekly to optimize results. The singing, and main teacher, is always present to assure the vocal progression. The piano coach will be present as often as requested by the student/advised by the teacher. The pupils will then have the best piano accompaniment. The main objective of the course is to work accordingly with the student's goals to give a well-driven direction to our study. The course it's thought with classic technical basics (healthy vocal benefits) but other styles can be added like the musical, jazz, cabaret, etc... Each case will have a personalized answer. The teachers' connection to the Royal Conservatory also ensures that complex problems can be solved by asking the highest experts. > Lesson structure: ✓ The lessons start with body/posture awareness, movement and breathing exercises followed by an individual set of vocalizes that may incorporate some scales, cords and/or improvisation. ✓ After the warm-up, depending on the student's level and goals, some song methods may fallow and/or the repertoire on which we decided to work. ✓ While working on the pieces several kinds of information will be provided: • The Anatomy of the Voice (body, breathing, vocal cord, resonances, prevention and counseling about vocal disorders); • Language and Phonetic knowledge of Italian, French, German, English, Spanish and Portuguese (+ strategies to enable singing in other languages). • Vocal Interpretation, phrase, prosody, colors, coordination with the piano and tools how to personalize the 'message', among others based on appropriate bibliography; • Drama basics, stage preparation, and fright avoidance strategies. • Music Theory and History in order to understand the pieces more deeply through a quick analysis, period and style. ✓ At the end of each season (non-mandatory) public auditions can be arranged whenever an artistic space would be willing to receive great voices and repertoire. I am an experienced performer offering singing lessons for all abilities. I have a BHons from Royal Holloway and have recently graduated my Masters in Classical Singing at The Royal Conservatoire of the Hague. While I am predominantely trained in classical singing, I can also offer lessons in traditional singing, pop and musical theatre. I am a recorder and classical singing student at the Royal Conservatoire in the Hague. I have experience with teaching the recorder to students aged 4 to 60 years old. My lessons are characterized by a relaxed atmosphere and I find it important to listen to the wishes of my students and adapt my lessons to their personal needs. For the younger students, I aim to teach a combination of recorder technique and posture, music theory and singing and stimulate their creativity in a playfull way.
