What can you expect from my tutoring?

- I am enthusiastic about the subject and have knowledge that extends deep into mathematics. I see math problems as little puzzles waiting to be solved, I hope that my tutoring can show others that math can be fun too. If a student has great difficulty with mathematics and I see how, thanks to my help, they still understand how the answer is arrived at, that is the biggest motivation for me.

How is my lesson organized?

- In the first lesson I like to meet my tutoring students, we also discuss which tests, SOs or exams are coming up and which subjects you have problems with in the short term. We will deal with these topics first.

- In the lessons that follow, we first ensure that the upcoming tests are successfully completed and we make a plan of action. This action plan consists of a number of goals that we keep in mind. This way we can start writing down the dates of upcoming major exams and we will see what you want to achieve this year. This may be that you just want to pass this year, but also that you would like to get a higher grade than what you get now. You can also indicate that a certain skill is still difficult and you would like help with this.

Hope to see you soon!
Extra information
Handy to have your own calculator, pen and paper and possibly. other requirements (geodrics, compasses, etc.). But I often also have extra material.

About Me
Math has always been a passion of mine, therefore tutoring is something I love and always will love doing.

Besides that, i'm an adventurous person and love being outside and in nature.
Education
Student second grade math teacher - NHL Stenden

Before this I attended Praedinius Gymnasium, where i followed Wiskunde B/D and finished the year with good grades.
Because of the other subjects I finished my HAVO at Alfa-College.

Besides the traditional school course I learned a bunch about math in my own free time.
Experience / Qualifications
Tutored math to many students, lower as well as upper secondary school.
Helped acquaintances, friends and family with math very often.

Hi! Welcome! I am a Ph.D. researcher in Physics at the University of Cologne, Germany. Recently, I graduated from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands with a Master's degree in Nanoscience (w/ cum Laude). I offer private tutoring (for high school and/or university-level students) so you can understand the fundamental concepts and excel in your studies. I have teaching experience of 5+ years in Physics and Mathematics to both high school and university-level students.

This class aims to provide an overview of calculus and linear algebra and focuses on the fundamental mathematical tools and concepts, such as limits, differentiation, and integration. Building on these basic concepts, we will review methods for solving problems related to optimization, linear differential equations, and matrix algebra.

Outline of the course:
1. Calculus:
1.1 Limits of functions
1.2 Continuity, types of discontinuities, intermediate value theorem
1.3 Differentiation (or derivative), slope, secant, tangent
1.4 Rules and theorems for differentiation, power rule, product rule, chain rule
1.5 Derivatives of exp, log, and trigonometric functions
1.6 Implicit differentiation and derivative of inverse functions
1.7 Rolle's theorem, mean value theorem, critical point, maximum/minimum of a function
1.8 First and second derivative tests, inflection points
1.9 Anti-derivative, indefinite integral, integration by substitution, integration by parts
1.10 Definite integral and its application (area between curves, application in physics)\
1.11 Optimization and linear differential equations

2. Linear Algebra:
2.1 Vectors and scalars in Euclidean space, vector arithmetic, scalar product, cross product
2.2 Equations for lines and planes, vector spaces, linear independence, span, basis, dimension
2.3 Linear transformations, coordinates, and representation of linear transformations by matrices
2.4 Matrix operations: matrix multiplication, transpose, determinant, inverse, and Hermitian conjugate
2.5 Systems of linear equations, Gaussian elimination
2.6 Eigenvalues and eigenvectors
2.7 Range, kernel, and rank-nullity theorem

and many more...

*Note that the sessions will be held online (via Discord/Zoom/Microsoft Teams).

Sanne
***ENGLISH BELOW***
Hello! My name is Sanne (25) and I have a Master's degree in Biochemistry. Starting in September, I will begin obtaining my first-degree teaching qualification in Biology. Besides my passion for laboratory research, I enjoy supporting students with the subject matter and sharing my enthusiasm for the subject. I have already helped more than 20 students with biology, chemistry, and mathematics. I offer tutoring in mathematics (Mathematics A, B, and C).

During the tutoring sessions, we actively work together on assignments, and I help you gain insight into the underlying concepts so that you can eventually tackle problems independently. Making mistakes is, of course, allowed; that is often where you learn the most. Additionally, it is important that you practice independently between lessons. For the lessons, you will need your own (sometimes graphing) calculator.

I offer support with:
- Clearing backlogs
- Specific chapters or topics that are difficult
- Preparation for school exams and central exams (vmbo, havo and vwo)
- VAVO, state examination, and CCVX tracks

Tutoring in pairs or small groups (for example, with classmates) is possible at a lower rate per person. Feel free to contact us for more information!

Home tutoring is available. For this, I charge a travel allowance of €1 per kilometer per session (excluding Apprentus surcharges). Please contact me before booking to discuss the options and additional costs.

Hello! My name is Sanne (25), and I hold a Master's degree in Biochemistry. Starting in September, I will begin training to obtain my first-degree teaching qualification in Biology. Besides my passion for laboratory research, I enjoy supporting students in their learning and sharing my enthusiasm for science. Over the years, I have helped more than 20 students with biology, chemistry, and mathematics. I currently offer tutoring in mathematics (A, B, and C).

During our tutoring sessions, we will actively work through exercises together, and I will help you develop a solid understanding of the underlying concepts so that you can eventually solve problems independently. Making mistakes is completely normal—in fact, it is often one of the best ways to learn. It is also important to practice independently between sessions. You will need your own calculator (sometimes a graphing calculator) during lessons.

I offer support with:
- Catching up on missed material or overcoming learning gaps
- Specific chapters or topics that you find challenging
- Preparation for school exams and final examinations (VMBO, HAVO, and VWO)
- VAVO programs, state examinations, and CCVX preparation

Tutoring in pairs or small groups (for example, with classmates) is available at a reduced rate per person. Feel free to get in touch for more information!
