I have graduated from the French school system in the scientific section with a speciality in physics. I also obtained my International Option Baccalaureate (OIB).
I have lived and studied abroad, so I am familiar to the system and level of foreign French schools

I am a professional English teacher with over 8 years experience in various teaching roles. I have experience of teaching all ages from 3 up to 65+ in group classes or 1-on-1. Specific purpose teaching such as public speaking or business English also taught.

I grew up in New Zealand and lived there for 6 years. Additionally, I received a one-year scholarship to study in the USA, which means I speak English as good as a native speaker. I have taken English classes in primary, middle, and high school. I have also taken English Literature classes and Presentation Speaking classes in English. During my final year of high school, taking the International Baccalaureate Program and English B at Higher Level, I received a 7 (highest grade) on my final oral exam and a 7 on my final written exam. I am able to tutor in holding conversations, meaning learning through having discussions with a native speaker. I may also teach literature, the analysis of texts, prepare for exams such as International Baccalaureate, SAT, or basic standardized testing.

I believe English is the international language of the world and is a basic tool of the 21st century. However, at times, it may seem complex. I believe teaching through having discussions is the best way to learn. I would prepare structured classes that would enable you to learn effectively and repeat the previously acquired knowledge in order to memorize it and successfully become more fluent and comfortable in the language.

Let's enjoy French culture together!
I believe immersion is the best way for learning a new language, so let me bring France to you through lessons and fun activities! Cooking traditional dishes with French recipes, analyzing the lyrics of French songs and poems, watching cult French cinematographic works, and so on.
I can also adapt my teaching with a more academic approach of course. Vocabulary and grammar are on the programme as well.

My name is Xander and I am 19 years old. I was born and grew up in the UK near London. I am fluent and extremally competent in English and I feel I can teach English as well as most school subjects to children and teenagers younger than 16. I am from France so I am a native. Depending on your way of learning, I can adapt, whether focusing more on grammar and conjugation or on practice. Obviously, both are necessary, and I will make sure to use movies and songs for homework!

Hi I am 21 years old and am currently a student at Leiden University doing a bachelor of sciences in environmental sustainability. I completed my A levels in Maths, Physics and Biology with grades A in Maths and Biology. I also did an AS level in Chemistry from the British School in the Netherlands.

I love science and geography and did my primary education in English and got all grade 9s in my science and geography GCSEs and a grade 8 in Maths. My classes are light-hearted, relaxed and always interactive. People learn best when they’re enjoying themselves and feeling deeply interested, and that is my promise to you. I will correct your mistakes, but I will never shame or embarrass you for making them. My class is a place where people come to feel good and grow confidence.

You can decide what you want to do in our class. Tell me in advance, and I'll spend time preparing interesting materials. For example:

• conversations with feedback and corrections (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation)
• help with reading and writing
• understand and practise grammar
• learn idioms and natural language with context
• prepare you for visits abroad or conversations with foreigners
• creative activities like games

I'll teach you the differences between formal and informal phrases so that you use them in the right situations. For example, some Dutch people don't know this, but when you want to say "moeten", in English we usually don't say "must". That meaning of "must" is very formal and uncommon in modern spoken English. Instead, say "have to". In 1965, the Queen said "I must go to the lavatory". Everyone else in the 21st century said "I have to go to the toilet."

I know you won't be my student forever, so I want to prepare you for the future. If you hope to get good at English, it's not enough just to have a tutor once a week – the more time you put into learning English, the better and faster you'll get.
