As a professional musician with both Bachelor and Master degrees I have experience teaching at primary schools, secondary schools, music camps, and at home tutelage. I pride myself on being able to tailor lessons to best suit each individual student’s learning style, and on being able to adapt the level of strictness or lightness to the situation. About Me

I’ve been learning violin and viola for almost 18 years and throughout this time the most important factor in my learning (other than practice) has been the teachers I had. A bad teacher can make a student quit entirely, and in primary school I almost experienced this. This taught me the importance of a good teacher. In the lessons I give I aim to be encouraging, positive, and to inspire a student to keep going and do their personal best. Throughout my life I’ve moved from rural Australia, gradually down the coast to Sydney, and now all the way to Amsterdam. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the support of the teachers I’ve had and I hope to be that person for other violinists and violists.

Violin & Viola lessons are for anyone who wishes to start playing, continue or rusume studying, for both children and adults.
I combine various practices which I believe create a greater whole. I teach basic to advance techniques in reprtoire which corresponds with the student's personality and ranges from classical to contemporary, improvisation, world, folk, pop, rock and more.
I combine repertoire with improvisation, composition, movement and other an interdicsiplinary manner.
My method is personal and about listening to the student wishes and ideas. If you're intrigued, I'd be happy to play, teach and exchange ideas with you!

About me - I've graduated BA in Viola from The Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance and BA and MA in Composition at The Royal Conservatory including an Erasmus semester at MIAM, ITU, Istanbul.
I was born in 1986 in Israel. Currently I live in Amsterdam.
I play viola, compose acoustic and electronic music (often involving theater and film), draw faces and make large-scale collages out of them, dance, research and experiment with movement & music, make performance-art, sing, improvise, make videos, write about my dreams, write poetry, perform as a soloist and with ensembles, initiate and taka part in many musical and cross-art collaborations.

Hello, I have extensive experience with students of all ages as a teacher of music theory, violin and viola. Custom classes, focused on student interests.
I studied violin degree at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Vigo in Spain and viola in Spain and at the Utrechts Conservatorium. The research of my final exam was about well-being and phisical education to improve and accelerate the learning process.
I want my students to be aware of the importance of good posture and technique in order to enjoy the learning process without problems.

I'm a 24 years old Portuguese violist currently living in Amsterdam.
I have studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Nobuko Imai and Francien Schatborn for 6 years from 2014 till 2020.
As a freelancer I work with numerous orchestras such as: Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Radio Filharmonisch Orkest and Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. I'm also an active chamber music player, amongst others as a member of the Rotterdam Chamber Music Society.

In addition to my private teaching experience, I have also done a teaching internship at the Muziekschool in Amstelveen during my studies, which gave me a lot of experience working with all levels of playing.

In my lessons I always go first for the student's aim, what suits him/her the best and always serving the music.

I offer private, one-to-one viola and violin lessons where I encourage technical and musical development for musicians who range from beginner to advanced levels.

I believe that each person has their own way of creating, listening, and connecting to music, and playing the viola/violin is a wonderful way of exploring it. Having started my studies on violin and moved to the viola as a teenager, I had the experience of learning how to shift my technical approach to and from each instrument so that I could feel comfortable and best express the music. I am Jose Carlos, currently academist in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, I also won recently a tutti viola position in Phion Orkest.

I studied my master's degree with Prof. Wolfram Christ in Freiburg. I recieved lessons from Nobuko Imai, Kim Kashkashian and Harmut Rohde, among others.

I want to share all I have learned from them and from my experience.
