Cello Unterricht in Bern und Zürich with Yunah

If you are looking for cello lessons in Bern or in Zürich, beginner, intermediate or advanced, I would be very happy to get to know you! My cello lessons are based around playing together, finding the students own ways to improve and learning about ways to make our daily life enchanted with music practice!
Students of all ages are welcome!
I am a Belgian cellist and studied in Antwerp, where I finished my Masters before moving to Switzerland to do a postgraduate at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. I love working in chamber music, in musical theatre (with dance, actors, fine arts) and I am very passionate about traditional/world music as well.
I hope to meet you soon!
Kind regards,
Yunah

About Me

Yunah completed her Master in classical music performance in the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp in the class of Justus Grimm. She also studied one year in London during an Erasmus exchange and one year in Maastricht before coming to Zürich for a CAS performance Klassik. Yunah has always been very passionate about interdisciplinary art collaborations. She loves working with dance, creating music for and performing in theatre pieces for example in the opera of Cologne, Parktheater Eindhoven, and other venues in Belgium and the Netherlands. Yunah is as well very interested in traditional music. She has been studying Persian music and plays the ‘kamanche’, an eastern string instrument. A fairly new interest in ambient music and sound ecology and environmental art has brought Yunah to create new compositions, experimenting with the combination of electronic and acoustic sound worlds.
Next to the performative work, Yunah is very passionate about teaching music, sharing her knowledge and thoughts about music and learning in general and taking students on the journey of exploring the cello, in a playful but serious way.

Piano and E-Bass Lessons for all levels in Downtown Bern
During the meetings we will work on three well distinguished areas: technique, improvisation and the interpretation of written pieces. In our first encounters, we will establish clear goals, such as securing a repertoire and/or developing specific skills. According to the each musician's needs and intentions, we will discuss topics of music theory, practice ear training and even compose new pieces. Over the years, I have collected and created a broad variety of materials and exercises and am constantly gathering and tailoring new ones for the attendants. My approach goes beyond the limitations of musical styles. Whether its European Classical, mainstream Pop, Indie Rock, a Latin-American Folk genre or Jazz, all music can be well performed when it is adequately approached and researched. Looking forward to meeting!

Louis
Lyrical Song / Opera Beginner to Professional Solfege, musical writing
Have you ever been surprised by the fact that a lyric singer with his voice can without a microphone fill a concert hall while passing through an orchestra? There is a very simple reason for this. The singer produces "harmonics" in his voice! Although it is difficult to explain, I would say that it is about a sound mass where the sound becomes almost matter! And to produce this, the singer sings in what is called, according to the baths of the teaching, the "Mask" or to be more precise in anatomical baths the "NasoPharynx" which is a space inside the head where the sound goes, a sound box to amplify the sound! It may sound surprising, but it is quite possible to learn this through vocal technique, and you might be surprised at yourself! By the vocal technique, I also mean the management of the breath, with a diaphragm that goes down very low, because the breath is the basis of singing! I accept any profile, beginner or experienced, musician or not! In any case, this practice can only bring you well being! I also accept to teach music theory, writing, and harmony!
