I am Lukas, a trained jazz drummer with a broad musical background. During my studies, I delved into various styles, including jazz, pop/rock, funk, Latin, and hard rock. I bring this versatility to my lessons.

In my teaching practice, the focus is on relaxed playing technique, timing (microtiming), sound, groove, coordination, musicality, and improvisation. I start as much as possible from the student's interests, supplemented by an extensive range of methods, books, and self-developed practice material.
The lessons take place in my little drum studio on Appelstraat, near the Roma in Antwerp!

During my training, I was taught by, among others, Toni Vitacollona, Jonas Burgwinkel, Teun Verbruggen, Jan-Kris Vinken, Wouter Van Tornhout, Jan De Haas, Lieven Venken, Achim Bill, and Steven Cassiers.

I think it's best for consistent development to have a plan with a goal in mind. Where do you want to be in 10 years? How to get there? What do we need to do for it each year, each month, and each week? At the beginning of each lesson, I would like to listen to what the student has prepared, and from there, we will figure out what steps are needed to make it even better.

I will help you reach your goals in drumming, we together go trough a plan on what you want to learn and then we set up goals and I will help you reach those goals. whatever it is for hobby playing or professional playing. My years in as a hired drummer in the music business has taught me how to work in this environment and how you land the gig of your dreams.

I also have been touring and playing festivals with loads of bands all over the world. My goal has always been to show that the drummer should not always just be in back.
