My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the course of learning piano. If the student is interested in a more serious approach, I can also guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams. For example, in the last year my students have achieved highest marks in the ABRSM exams as well as prizes in various competitions. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music." Prior to this, I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Piano Performance/Music from University of Minnesota and TCU-Fort Worth, TX, USA. My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as soloist with orchestra (also as harpist), and receiving top prizes in several competitions. During the last ten years, her goal has been to solve an important issue: how to make students interested in piano playing. Most kids who learn the piano would give up before or during their teenage time. However, 99% of them regret it when they grow up. In Christina's lesson, she will acknowledge to the students and parents clearly what difficulties they will face during the process of music learning. It's more important that students learn to develop a good habit, a worthwhile hobby, and the perseverance that will benefit their whole life. About the class: This class aims to prepare for the ABRSM piano grade 1-8 test at a more intensified pace. The student is supposed to possess certain musical knowledge or required piano skills. The teacher will help the students develop their missing skills to pass the exam. Different students may require different class lengths. For a child under the age of six, the teacher recommends less time for each class but a higher frequency. I've been doing piano lessons with Giorgia for three months now. I really enjoy her lessons and look forward to them each week! I started as a complete beginner and keep learning a lot in each lesson. My confidence and ability are definitely growing as I learn to play and understand more. Giorgia's lessons have a very nice mix of theory, technique, and of course a lot of piano playing too. She is very knowledgeable and great at answering and explaining any questions that I have. Also, in each lesson, Giorgia provides helpful exercises to practice during the week. Before taking lessons with Giorgia, I would practice 1 or 2 times a week. Now with the exercises and guidance from each lesson, I know exactly what to practice to improve and find it much easier to practice each day. I would highly recommend lessons with Giorgia! I very much enjoy and feel comfortable learning in Giorgia's lessons, and I am excited to keep learning with her!
