Votre coach. Helder

Oliver - Barcelona, Spain$60
Trusted teacher: I have worked with kids who say they are "not mathematical" and within 6 months they were loving it and excelling in the subject. Every child is different but most teachers teach them all in the same way. I have 10 years experience teaching many different young minds with different styles of thinking. When I was a young child, I believed I was not a mathematical person. It wasn't until I met an amazing teacher at age 15 that I discovered my mathematical genius and my life was changed forever. I'm eternally grateful to that teacher. My teacher knew that self-image and self-belief is the key to unlock your child's mathematical abilities. Everyone is good at maths, but we all have different styles of thinking. Bad teachers teach every child the same way. My job is find your child's style of mathematics and allow them to discover that for themselves. When they discover that, they will begin to enjoy the beauty and power of mathematics ...and then you will see as the grades begin to soar. 👉Click the blue "Contact Oliver" button above and lets discuss how we can unlock your child's mathematical talents! 😊

Trusted teacher: I have a Doctorate degree in Mathematics. Maths is a wonderful subject, which one needs in all spheres. It is the basic of all subjects. A few applications are defined below: Trigonometry: Calculus is related with trigonometry and algebra. The fundamental trigonometric functions like sine and cosine are used to define the sound and light waves.Trigonometry is further used in oceanography to measure the heights of waves and tides in oceans. It is used in satellite systems, and to create maps. The famous Pythagoras' Theorem finds its' application in determining how tall a ladder needs to be in order to safely place the base away from the wall so it does not turn over. Probability and Statistics: Probability problems infer conclusions about characteristics of hypothetical data taken from the population. Probability explains the mathematical chance that something might happen, and is used in numerous day- to-day applications. Calculus : We can find the (or global) minimum and maximum values of a function as well as the relative (or local) minimum and maximum values of a function. Differential Equation: Differential equations are applied to predict the world around us, and used in a wide variety of disciplines, from biology, economics, physics, chemistry and engineering. It has applications in exponential growth and decay model, Newton's law of cooling, and Circuit theory, e.t.c. I have teaching experience for more than 15 years. My students are from all corners of the globe, and of all ages. I also make them learn Mathematics in English, so that they can excel in future. I am well acquainted will all the topics of mathematics, at all levels from schools to colleges. Children like my style of teaching.

Trusted teacher: I offer math tutoring for high school, college and university. I myself am a civil engineer in construction and I already have four years of experience as a mathematics tutor, of which three years through a recognized tutoring organization. I gradually find out where the student's problem lies and work on it further to increase the chances of success as much as possible. I help both in understanding the subject matter and in reforming the study method. This may be accompanied by homework (extra exercises) to get an overview of the student's progress or for some extra challenge. My approach is calm, familiar and tailored to each individual. Lessons can take place both on site and via webcam. If on site, this must be in the immediate vicinity of Ghent center. During the school holidays I am also available for tutoring to refresh the subject matter, to prepare for a possible entrance exam or to update a study material backlog.

Leila (Shamira) - Istanbul, Turkey$33
Trusted teacher: Dear students and parents, I am an enthusiastic and hard-working multilingual (English, Russian, Turkish, Azerbaijani) Math and Statistics educator and Data Analyst with 12 years of teaching and 16 years of research experience in an international environment. First, as a Math Teacher, my main aim is to encourage students to analyze the problem carefully and find different solutions for one question. This method helps students to choose the easiest way of solution for her/him during the exam and finish it in time. I teach students both ways how to solve questions without a calculator with math tricks, and how to use a calculator more effectively. As you know in the exam there might be non-calculator and calculator papers. Moreover, this ability helps students not only to understand the math subject deeply but also will be very helpful during their adult life. As a Math High-Level and Standard-Level (AA, AI) teacher in IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Program) the part of my teaching also consisted of supervising students’ research projects. Previous research experience in the frame of UNDP (UN Development Program) by that time was very valuable. Being an IB Math Examiner helped me to see the clear picture of students' mistakes done during the solutions. So, I teach students how to show their solutions to get more marks on the exam. Working with British School during this hard time of COVID taught me to be prepared for any challenges, to make decisions in a very short time, to be ready for any daily but very important changes. Teaching online became more interesting by using such helpful math tools as Desmos, GeoGebra, TI 84 Calculator Online, etc. Having teaching experience (Math and Statistics) in one of the top universities of the US (UW-Madison) helped me clearly to see the path of a student from the school bench to the university auditorium. Only by working in both school and university, you can understand what is better to learn for a student to be helpful in the future university years. Years of hands-on work experience and a keen interest in Math teaching as a profession, excellent Math and Statistical skills, a deep understanding of IB Global mission, being curious to learn the new curriculum (IGCSE, A-Level), and clearly seeing the connection between the school and university Math have prepared me well to see strengths and weaknesses of the student and how to use that strong side of a student to improve the gaps that student earned in her/his earlier years. Therefore, I believe that all these experiences will help me smoothly rise the level of my students and succeed in their future life. Sincerely, Leila

There is no one unique way to teach math, because everyone is different. However one is obvious. The more you practice yourself the more you learn. This is the way I am trying to apply on my lessons. I want to make my students think analytically and find solutions. What you need is to have installed skype or other platform and email address. It would be wonderful if you have drawing tablet so that you can write easily.

I have worked for 5 years now with kids from international schools who were "hating" maths because the methods used by their IB teachers were too complicated and hard to understand. I believe that no one is "not mathematical", we just have to find the way to approach the subject together; I have indeed a few teaching methods that can be adapted to a kids' needs, I believe every kid needs a different method to fully understand the subject. I provide 3 types of lessons that represent 3 phases: 1. THEORY - Understanding the theory behind the exercises, this phase is the shortest since I believe that to fully understand maths you need to exercise. 2. EXERCISES - Doing exercises divided by subject we. just went through in the theory part. 3. PAST PAPERS - Going through past papers to "simulate" a potential exam. Dividing the process in 3 phases has proven really effective in succeeding not only during the year but also at the final exams.
