Fiachra - Amsterdam35€
Trusted teacher: Greetings! I am currently studying viola performance and education at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I also completed a Diploma in Music Education and Performance at the Royal Irish Academy of Music before coming to The Netherlands. I have had lots of experience teaching in schools and privately, and I get so much joy teaching people and helping them learn an instrument. My main goal as a teacher is to help students find their passion and love for music and for playing an instrument. I am also very practical in my approach to teaching, always trying to make things as clear as possible for each and every student to understand. When teaching young children, I find that using various different games with and without the instrument helps a lot with their understanding and development. This resonates well with their impressive abilities to play for many hours every day - something which I think is very important for young children to make the most of while they have it. My understanding of the lessons is that every student should come out with the best feeling of wanting to improve their playing, and I always try to motivate every student in whichever way works best for them. I am also very open to using different approaches when it is not working for the student, and I am known to listen very well to feedback like this. I have been teaching violin and viola for many years, and I also teach piano to an intermediate level. For those who would like to learn music theory, or improve their knowledge of the subject, I also teach that. The majority of students who start out do so on the violin, and some change to viola some time later. Some students who begin their musical journey on the violin go on to play not only viola but other stringed instruments such as cello and double bass if they grow away from the violin at any stage - so choosing violin in the beginning will certainly give you the most options.

Christianne - Amersfoort64€
Trusted teacher: In addition to being very active as a performing violinist, I have also enjoyed teaching children and adults for years. I graduated from the conservatory and also graduated as a music therapist. I therefore have a lot of knowledge and patience when working with children / adults who need specific attention. Think, for example, of children with autism, gifted children and highly sensitive children. Of course you are also welcome as an adult with or without extra challenges. I myself have 3 children, 1 gifted and 1 highly sensitive. This has allowed me to teach these children with even more enthusiasm, understanding and patience. It is also possible to indicate in advance in conversation what your child will encounter and how violin lessons can help. For example, with autistic children, think of making contact, feeling. Gifted children experience extra challenges and learn to deal with the frustration that something does not work right away. Of course everyone is welcome with me! I teach from different methods, but look at what is appropriate for each student. I also work on the development of sound performance, solfege, music theory and improvisation. I have a classic basic method, but work tailor-made and see what someone needs. Light pop / film music is also a possibility.

Trusted teacher: I love to play and to teach my instrument. I play in different Orchestras, classical chamber music, and I improvise in contemporary music with body movement. I worked a lot on the body position while playing, which I think is very important in order to release tension in the muscles and feel freer with the instrument. Trusted teacher: The ability to improvise is not a natural skill that we are born with. It is an understandable chain of tools that can be learned and practiced into performance. Improvisation is something that requires discipline as much as freedom, and in fact, it stems from the understanding of sounds, the music's natural grammar. Violin is mostly seen as a melodic instrument but it can be otherwise. Outside of the classical world, rhythm reigns and the violin can be a leading rhythmical instrument too, providing solid grooves and accompaniments or challenging your fellow musicians with percussive sounds. Furthermore, to be proficient in specific styles, it is not enough to just play scales and patterns but it is necessary to learn the colors of the proper harmonical framework which is part of an idiom. In 10 years of teaching, I developed an approach that rethinks the function of fingerboard visualization allowing you to transpose in any key with great facility and to understand the logic behind the shapes of any chord on the fingerboard. In these lessons, I will help you to rethink the violin out of the box, as a powerful rhythmical and harmonical instrument while deepening your melodic ability (soloing) related to the styles you want to play: Jazz, Blues, Fusion, Pop, Rock, Brazilian, World Music. [According to the style we will also be working with loops and effects] This class is designed for musicians who already know the basics of violin techniques but addresses both beginner and advanced players in relation to the field of improvised music. The lessons will be custom made for each student. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player I will work to adapt to your learning rhythm while keeping you challenged at the same time. You will receive regular feedback, advice, and guidance and materials. Don't hesitate to contact me for more details!
