In consultation, there are many possibilities regarding days and times (both during the day and in the evening). Available for home lessons in Amsterdam on Monday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons. During the lessons, a relaxed and natural posture takes center stage, as this is the foundation for a beautiful and free sound. I pay close attention to refined bowing technique, pure intonation, and teaching a smooth, expressive vibrato. Furthermore, thanks to my musical upbringing, I am well-versed in the Kodály method, making the connection between singing and instrumental technique a very natural part of my teaching approach. When necessary, I also accompany my students on the piano, which makes making music together even more accessible and inspiring. My goal is to help your musicality flourish in a patient and personal atmosphere – whether you are just starting out or wish to further deepen your technique. My name is Daniela, and I am a cross-over violist from Costa Rica. I moved to the Netherlands in 2020 to pursue my studies at Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam, where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Classical Music (Viola). I am currently continuing my journey at Codarts with a Master's degree in Latin Music. During my time in the Netherlands, I have been part of a wide range of musical projects across different genres — from classical orchestras and chamber music to pop, jazz, and world music collaborations. I've performed with ensembles such as the Jong Metropole and recorded with various pop, jazz, and fusion bands. I am also the bandleader of my own Latin project, La Reunión, and work as a freelance musician with diverse musical groups. Before moving to the Netherlands, I studied Music Education at the University of Costa Rica and worked for several years as a private teacher. I have experience teaching violin and viola to both children and adults. As a teacher, I am kind and patient. I believe in the value of consistent, focused work and in helping students grow step by step. I aim to make the learning process feel easy and fun!
