About Me

I'm Kristina, a jazz singer and composer with Ukrainian roots from Saint-Petersburg (Russia), currently living in Amsterdam. I fell in love with music since I was a kid and I think I was dancing even before I learned how to walk. I started to sing and play piano at a very early age, and it still makes me happy. I always earn to learn something new, so after graduating from music universities in Ukraine and Russia; after visiting lots of jazz workshops all over Europe, I came to Amsterdam to study at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. But what do I like even more than studying? I like teaching and sharing my knowledge and experience with others. I'm doing it for 12 years and my goal is to inspire students, turn the whole studying process into an exciting journey. The only strict rule is to have fun and enjoy yourself!

I'm a professional Bass player and teacher based in Amsterdam.
I have studied with some of the best teachers in Europe as well as famous bassists from the New York Jazz Scene. Besides my studies I have been actively performing, recording and teaching since age 16, which led me to play at different festivals and venues such as North Sea Jazz, JazzOpen Stuttgart, Bimhuis, DeDoelen Rotterdam.
I'm calm and easy going and I want to pass on the knowledge I got from my teachers as well as my own experience. I always focus on getting you ready or better at playing in a band, since that's what we do as bass players! I'm experienced in and open to a wide variety of styles, my specialization being Jazz.
