Trusted teacher: My lessons are for anyone who wants to delve into electronic music & sound design. As an experienced composer, producer and sound designer I specialize in applying my broad knowledge and experience in the field of music & technology. Most successful electronic musicians combine different skills, such as working with music production software and hardware, playing a keyboard, recording and mixing, but also music theory and composition techniques. Because as an electronic musician you often have to deal with different instruments & other sound sources, my lessons are also very suitable if you want to learn to design your own sounds, not only to make music, but also as sound effects for videos or games, for example. Just like in my own professional practice, I teach the different aspects of electronic music production: - sound design ('sound design'), both analogue and digital - synthesis - composition techniques - software for music production, so-called 'DAWs' such as Ableton Live - hardware - production: recording and mixing of audio - performance of electronic music It is also possible to learn more about (Western and non-Western) music theory and the history of (electronic) music. From my background as a sound designer for games & film, much of me can share knowledge and experience in this. In principle, my lessons are always adapted to the individual needs, knowledge and skills of the student. For the youngest, my approach is to introduce them to music and technology in a playful way. For this I use my own collection of musical instruments that I have collected over the years from all over the world, and which I link to technology.

Music is my passion. I was captivated by it at a young age, and later, in 2012 I've started to teach piano. My music path starts at Russian music school and then goes to the College of Arts, also in Russia. During this time I was involved in all kinds of musical activities: competitions, live performances and hard studying. In the course of studying, I've found out that what I like most is composition and piano teaching. I love classical music and know about it a lot (yet there is still plenty to discover). I'm eager to share my knowledge and passion with all of you who will decide to learn how to play the piano with me. It's not only about PLAYING the piano... I will not only teach you how to play the piano but how to feel the music as well and express this feeling with the different touch on the instrument. You will discover the secrets of classical music that will prove you it is not boring. Maybe, while playing somebody's pieces, you will discover the desire to create something by yourself. It is possible, even for beginners. You just have to learn some methods and techniques and then let your imagination work. I also help my students to overcome the fear of failure and anxiety that usually comes during performances. My lesson plans based on the personal needs of my students but in general, they include: - piano playing; - music theory; - improvisation; - composition; - playing 4 hands; - listening to classical music.

I am a professional cellist and have loved this instrument from up close for most of my life. I have a lot of experience teaching cellists of all levels between the ages of 5 and 75, and enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for this gorgeous instrument with others. In my lessons, I look for an approach that suits each student individually and has lots of attention for the wishes and needs of my students. From the very first lesson, we make music together, and explore ways of allowing the naturally beautiful sound of the cello to emerge. Whether you'd like to learn the cello, polish up your skills, or further develop yourself as a musician, I would be delighted to accompany you on this journey. I teach in a spacious studio in Zaandam (Wednesdays and Thursdays), and in an atmospheric studio in Amsterdam (Mondays). Are you curious, or would you like to know more? Feel free to get in touch.

For composition, we can discuss the basics if you are just starting or planning to compose. If you've been doing it for a while, we'll focus more on the music you make and discuss it with each other.

Trusted teacher: My name is Paolo, I’m an Italian pianist and composer. My musical life started when I was 9, moved by a bit of curiosity I put on a classical music CD, the speakers played Chopin’s 1st Ballade and that was the first time I had goose bumps listening to a music piece. This experience was so strong that I wanted to recreate that feeling, so I started to study piano. The instrument is really good for a first approach to the music; after a little while, with lessons and practice, it’s possibile to play a very simple composition with a great satisfaction. Through out the years I faced many obstacles, especially technical difficulties. I had great teachers who helped me to know and understand the instrument, they also taught me to love the music I was playing without shame for mistakes. Like in sports you need to train yourself, learn movements and adjust coordination, but it’s also very important to love what you are doing and be passionate about it. This is what you will learn with me, in a friendly and relaxed environment. I studied in Brescia, Milano and Amsterdam. My main fields were piano, chamber music and composition. I have taught piano and music theory during my time in Italy, currently I perform mainly in The Netherlands.

Joris - Amsterdam46€
Trusted teacher: Guitar lessons for beginners are aimed at not learning wrong habits in the initial phase. The guitar is an easy instrument, but unlearning something that is not functional is always heavy. We immediately make music without having to read notes. Chords, rhythms and strumming, that's what it's all about! My name is Joris, I have been playing guitar for 30 years and I teach 7 of them. My sympathy goes out to those students who have fallen for the sound and shape of the guitar, who love music with all their heart and want to play for themselves, first and foremost!

Trusted teacher: I've been playing the piano for 11 years and took music theory for several years as well. I received official certificates for Music Performance and Music Theory from The London Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. In addition, I compose music myself and improvise in my free time a lot as well. And I am happy to pass my knowledge on to my students! When it comes to teaching student's desires and needs are very important. I give the freedom to my students to focus on what they want and need. But I also make sure that I give the lessons according to a plan so that the students can actually learn in an efficient way. I can also provide necessary course materials for students to practice. Trusted teacher: I can help out beginner to intermediate producers. We can start all the way from the beginning or focus on specific topics that you would have questions about. I can teach you to produce tracks in an intuitive way without the use of music theory but can also incorporate the basics of music theory in the lessons. I’m specialised in sound design, playing live sets on stage and developing the identity of artists. It helps me to get intermediates to the next level. When you want to start with music production you need to work in a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). I work mainly with Ableton because it's very intuitive and "jammable". It's a great DAW to work in, especially for beginners. Preferably my lessons will be focused on Ableton but I can also work in other DAW's because the fundamentals are mostly the same in all of them. The following aspects will be covered in Ableton Live: 1. The Basics (overview of the layout) 2. Arrangement, session and clip view 3. Working with sequencers and MIDI 4. Recording and routing 5. Audio and MIDI effects 6. How to work with the built-in instruments in Ableton Live. 7. How to go from a basic beat to a finished track. 8. Mixing and mastering 9. The basics of music theory 10. Intermediate: sound design, synthese, synthesizers, sampling, field recordings 11. Intermediate: developing your own liveset with MIDI controllers, drumcomputers and synthesizers 12. Intermediate: developing your own sound and identity If you have any question, don't hesitate to message me!

I am a student at Conservatorium van Amsterdam studying jazz piano under the supervision of the masters in the school. I have experience in teaching beginners how to start improvising. Improvisation can be learned if the right tools are offered to the beginner. I know what methodology works for upbringing a beginner to start improvising, swinging, composing a tune. I can guide through all the scales that jazz musicians use, common chord harmonies used by Bud Powell, Mccoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock - and most importantly ideas behind it. Swing is the most important element in improvising in a jazz context, and I will guide you on how to practice getting the swing feel, that drives jazz music. Generally, I give lots of assignments, papers, so it would be important the student knows how to read sheet music. If you are a beginner or intermediate who needs a push to get to know common, complex improvisational, compositional, harmonical ideas, contact me.
