I believe everyone can sing, and it is one of the most extraordinary and fun things to do! Hello everyone! My name is Marion and I come from France. I have been a musician for as long as I can remember. I started when I was a kid as a trumpet player. I played in many different kinds of orchestras and had a lot of fun with this instrument, but it was nothing compare to my love for singing! This is why I decided to become a professional opera singer and I want to share my passion about singing! What do I offer? Classical singing lessons for all levels with a focus on opera, songs, oratorio and choir repertoire. I am based in Utrecht. You are welcome to come to my place, but I can also come to the students. Lessons can be taught in English or in French, but I also speak a little bit of Dutch. What will you learn? The fundamental elements of classical singing such as breathing, posture and resonances for example but also styles, pronunciation, interpretation and repertoire. An important aspect I want to approach in a singing lesson is how to help you find your own voice, both in a technical and in an interpretative sense. I can also guide you with anything solfège related like how to use and read a score or how to learn a song by heart. What is my philosophy about singing and pedagogy? I believe the best way to develop and improve a skill is when the students feel that they are in a safe place where they can dare to experiment but also have fun. This is an essential part of the process of music making and I try to bring fun and enjoyment to every lesson! I hope we will be in touch soon for a lesson. About me: I started my musical studies in my home country in France, at the Conservatoire de Caen and the Conservatoire de Rennes before coming to The Netherlands where I finished my voice bachelor’s degree at Het Conservatorium van Amsterdam in June 2018. Two years later I graduated from the Dutch National Opera Academy where I performed the role of Tigrane in Händel’s Radamisto, The Countess of Dunmow in Berkeley’s A Dinner Engagement, Arsace in Graun’s Cesare and Cleopatra and Fiordiligi in Mozart's Così fan tutte. Nowadays, I am a freelance soprano working in the Netherlands and in Belgium as a soloist and as a choir singer. I often participate in productions with the choir of the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen in Antwerp or the Groot Omroepkoor in Hilversum. I was one of the laureates of the edition 2020/2021 of the Dutch Classical Talent Tour & Award, and I recently won the Handel Choir Jubilee Award.

You can contact me to learn classical singing technique. I have a bachelor's and master's degree in classical singing and 20 years of stage experience. In recent years, I have also received further training in singing techniques for pop songs and musical theatre songs. I followed the CVT basic course and the Tools for Teachers training at Cordula Klein Goldewijk. It was very enjoyable to me and valuable additional knowledge to learn more about these techniques, and about the differences and similarities with classical singing technique. So I can teach in both styles, but I have far more performing experience in classical singing and opera. I can help you with: - learning good breathing technique/breath support - equalizing your voice (the 'voice break') - choosing the right repertoire - learning to use your natural acoustic optimally - relaxation of the mouth and throat area - twang - stage presentation - basic level ear training - basic level of reading music Experience is not necessary, but being open to learn is!

Singing to me is the best feeling ever. Your entire body is moving and your head is totally empty of worries. You lose who you are and transform into a new person. One time you are a prince or princess, the other a warrior fighting a duel. Maybe you stare at a beautiful river or fall in love like never before. All of this and even crazier situations are material for songs. Singing is so much more than just notes, it is about using your fantasy and telling a story. I love this feeling so much that I want to share how you can experience all of this while singing. ​ In general, singing is a combination of technique (pitches and rhythm), posture, and breathing. Next to that, we have diction, acting, body language, expression, and joy! You sing because you like it! ​ Singing is for all ages, all levels, and I adapt my lessons to your level. I am an Italian soprano, graduated from the Dutch National Opera Academy. I work as a soloist as a freelance singer, and I teach singing to students of different levels and ages for many years. The most important thing during my lessons is to help the student find a healthy and comfortable way of singing! As a student and professional singer, I spent many years exploring and questioning different vocal methods to understand how to achieve the best and healthiest results. This journey became an important part of my Master’s research, where I explored the topic of “Finding Your Vocal Way” and studied different approaches to vocal training. This experience strongly influences my teaching philosophy. My goal is to help each student develop their voice without unnecessary stress or tension, discover their unique vocal potential and musicality, and build a healthy and confident relationship with their voice. I offer a method based on my professional experience, but above all in continuity with the teaching I received from my professor at the Conservatoire national supérieur de Paris, the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles, and a year in Rome based on the methods and techniques of the greatest opera singers, in order to discover and develop your voice to sing with ease and pleasure! My lessons are tailored to each student’s age, experience, and goals. Children (7–12 years old) For younger students, lessons focus on building confidence while making learning fun. We begin with simple vocal warm-ups and ear training to develop pitch and intonation, then move on to singing their favourite songs, encouraging good vocal habits in an enjoyable way. Teenagers (12-17 years old) With teenage students, we start with more structured vocal warm-ups and exercises. As we discover their natural voice, we work on developing a comfortable vocal range, improving technique, and applying these skills through songs that suit their voice and interests. Adults and seniors (18+) For adult students, lessons are usually divided into two parts. We begin with vocal technique, focusing on breathing, diaphragm support, scales, arpeggios, and intonation. We then apply these techniques through singing, helping you develop confidence, control, and healthy vocal habits. I will give you repertoire to study or we will study the pieces you have to prepare. The final goal will be to sing on a musical accompaniment. Every student learns at a different pace. Some may spend more time building a solid technical foundation before moving on to more challenging repertoire, and that’s perfectly fine. My priority is to ensure that every student feels comfortable, supported, and confident throughout their vocal journey. I teach children, teenagers, and adults and seniors from complete beginners to advanced singers. My classical training provides a strong technical foundation that can be applied to any musical style, whether you enjoy pop, musical theatre, jazz, rock, or classical singing.
