If this resonates, please keep reading! I am Julia, a classical violin player. I studied at Codarts university in Rotterdam and played in an Orchestral Academy for a year in Spain. I discovered I enjoy teching very much while following a minor in education during my bachelor. Throughout the course I learned pedagogy, didactics and methodology, and worked with students of different ages and levels of experience. I love teaching because it allows me to share my knowledge and challenges me to be more imaginative and flexible. The lessons are tailor-made. This means that the goals are going to be adapted to YOUR wishes taking in account previous experience, expectations and musical taste. Even though I have a classical training, I am open to work with different styles. I teach children from 5 years old onwards and adults. Where words leave off, music begins...

My name is Victoria. I give violin lessons in Rotterdam. Picking up a new instrument can sometimes be very difficult, so I will help you in this learning process. I can help beginners and advanced violinists to improve. My experience is that playing with a more experienced musician is more fun and benefits the development. As said, the level doesn't matter. I teach children (from 4 years old) and adults. Lessons can be given in Dutch, English or Russian. My program is very flexible and offers space for personal input. This violin course is designed for beginners and intermediate students, and aims to develop the essential technical and musical skills for playing smoothly and expressively. The program includes learning the fundamentals of violin playing, such as correct posture, grip, and producing a clear tone. You'll work on scales and arpeggios to develop your dexterity, as well as bowing techniques to master different stroke patterns. Sheet music reading, musical analysis, and music theory practice are integrated into the course to strengthen your theoretical knowledge and music-reading skills. Alongside this, you'll explore a diverse repertoire, ranging from classical works to more contemporary pieces, and will have the opportunity to work in a group to improve your listening and coordination with other musicians. The course also includes personalized guidance to structure your practice and prepare you for performances, with an emphasis on musical expression and managing stage fright. My approach aims to make each student independent and to encourage their musical development in a caring and motivating environment.

This course is for viola and violin students from the beginner through the high school level, and any age from 5-99! My goal is for my students to foster a healthy and long-term relationship with their instrument. The course focuses on practicing and truly understanding technique, with an emphasis on listening. Weekly assignments tend to include technical exercises, scales, and classical pieces of the student's choice. Basic improvisation is also an interest of mine and, I find, a valuable experience for my string students. I believe repertoire is largely a matter of student taste. Students of mine have learned pieces in the Suzuki books and other classical repertoire volumes, but have also learned pop and fiddle songs according to their interest. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance from the University of Puget Sound, where I graduated in 2015 before moving to Vienna to study privately for three years. I am currently on hiatus from a Master of Viola Performance degree at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague . I have been teaching violin intermittently since 2009. While my musical education is classical, my performance interests are much wider. I have performed jazz and pop improv, and am currently exploring how hip hop can be implemented on the viola and violin.

I am a Liszt academy Master's graduate, specializing in violin performance, teaching for 6+ years, and enjoy sharing knowledge and experience with anyone interested in this beautiful instrument. I am an Albanian violinist, with a Bachelor degree in Classical Music (Violin) and Musicologie in Sorbonne University. Over the years, my experiences with different youth and professional orchestras all around Europe have made me understand that music is important not only for professional musicians but also for everyone. I have thirteen years of teaching experience in the Netherlands and in Belgium ( privately and at music schools/muziekacademies). In my lessons I help the students to find a good contact with the instrument and cultivate a positive relationship with music by integrating the development of aural skills, sense of rhythm and an optimal body use, enabling them to connect with their musical imagination.
