Irene studied classical and modern singing at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, Haarlem and in the United States with Joan Lader (Broadway musical) and in Italy at the Accademia di Belcanto with Astrea Amaduzzi. Irene's knowledge covers all singing techniques, such as belcanto, verismo, belting, pop-curbing, and is based on scientific research that ranges from classical pedagogues to the most contemporary insights into voice use. Breath support and sound formation are the indispensable basis for a good, powerful and healthy use of the voice, but many other aspects are important. Hundreds of videos, interviews with voice specialists, quizzes, challenges and workbooks form a complete singing education for all types of singing. Add to that her humor, enthusiasm and ability to accompany all pieces on the piano without prior knowledge of the song and you know that a singing lesson with Irene is a very educational but also enjoyable experience.
