First, I always strive to understand the student's motivations and adapt my teaching to help them achieve their goals. Furthermore, in my course I emphasize three aspects that I consider important. The first aspect is the student's technique and physical relationship with their instrument (we discuss posture, how to hold the sticks, rudiments, and coordination...). The objective: to obtain a calm and controlled sound, with relaxed movement. The second aspect is language and repertoire. This involves introducing students to the basic repertoire, linked to the origins of the music that gave rise to contemporary music and the drums (jazz, funk, soul, etc.). This doesn't mean playing jazz or funk perfectly; rather, it's about expanding students' musical knowledge, presenting the evolution of the drums, and introducing them to new groups and styles. With this approach, I try to guide students in the style they want to explore, helping them discover the origins of that particular music. Ultimately, I equip students with the tools and skills to begin transcribing music independently. On the one hand, I teach key concepts for recognizing structures, the beginnings and ends of musical phrases, time signatures, basic rhythms, and so on. This doesn't necessarily involve music theory. Rather, I emphasize the development of active listening, musical memory, and singing, as essential tools for learning new pieces. To enrich this learning, I use software such as Trancribe!, iRrealPo, Moises, loop libraries, Live, Finale, and others. In my opinion, these resources facilitate and empower students in their musical development. Basically, I try to help students become autonomous in their learning, and to make them appreciate and understand musical learning as a fun and motivating journey, with no limits other than their creativity...

Trusted teacher: ** English version below ** A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, I offer Drums lessons (all ages) to beginners, intermediates and advanced. Sharing music and dialogue with the student are essential for me: I adapt to the needs/desires of each student by offering a musical and instrumental program (in addition to regular work based on technique). Students will be able to play along to playbacks (soundtracks), solo, or simply following a score. The courses will of course be focused on different points, according to your requests. I will use musical language, and teach you how to read a Drum score using simple and effective methods. I offer a cultural approach to different styles to my students (funk, groove, hip-hop, rock, reggae, jazz, etc.). I also give lessons in music theory, timpani, djembe, percussion, piano according to your request. -------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- A graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, I offer drum lessons (all ages) to beginners, intermediates and advanced students. Trusted teacher: Je donne cours en français - Description disponible en Français Do lezione in Italiano - Descrizione disponibile in Italiano ......................................................................................................................................................... The course method, inspired by the Agostini school (French method used in French and Belgian academies and conservatories) is divided between technique and drums. At the rate of one session each we will focus once on technique and movements outside the drums (on pads) and the other time on the drums and the application of technique and movements. -> The technique lessons and the movements will be those of the so-called 'Moeller technique' that I learned through his direct lineage of student. -> The drum lessons are greatly inspired by the pedagogy of the M.A.I. (Music Academy International - Nancy (fr)) and in particular that of Richard-Paul Morellini, renowned instructor. The courses are complete, in-depth but above all specifically thought of to be progressive. They are suitable for children from 7 years old as well as adults of all ages. => Particular attention is paid to the movements and their correct application, to the total independence of the limbs and finally to an understanding of the rhythm and its theory. My main goal is to give the student complete control behind the drums and skills to be able to self-learn any piece in any musical style. 1 hour of weekly lessons are never enough, they should only be used to fuel the passion that will make you play at home more and more. On demand or for advancs students: - I am very passionate about the study of South American rhythms. Due to their complexity, apart from the samba and Baïon ostinatos, they are not included in the program before the advanced level. They can be at the request of the student. - I am also specialized in metal (musical style) and double pedal. The latter is not included in the program unless requested by the student. The double pedal courses are based on the methodology of Virgil Donati. Technique: * Moeller technique (the 'whipping motion' - the Free stroke -Full/Half/Low stroke - accepting the rebound - its application etc.) * Snare rudiments and their applications through reading systems * Readings of scores and exercises for the snare drum * Speed drills * Military marches * Control of the different subdivisions (quarter notes - eighth notes - triplets - sixteenth notes - quintuplets - sextuplets - triple eighth notes - nonolets etc.) * Displacement of accents and polyrhythms * On request, double pedal technique (application of the Moeller to the double pedal as well as everything listed above but with the feet) Drums: * Bass drum reading and independance * Snare drum reading and independance * Applications of ghost notes * The 16 sixteenth-notes ostinatos * Jazz readings and independence * Binary and ternary readings * Coordination and movements of both feet * Dynamics on the instrument * Creation of fills and original drum grooves * On request, application of the double pedal * On request or for advanced students, readings and independence of South American rhythms (study and independence of the clave/Cascara/Mozambique etc.)
