I graduated from the Kaunas Conservatory of Music in Lithuania and am currently studying the accordion at Sibelius Academy here in Helsinki. With 15 years of experience, I offer accordion lessons for students of all ages and skill levels. Drawing from my international experience, I adapt my teaching to fit each student’s needs and goals. Whether you're looking for individual lessons, online sessions, or preparation for exams and competitions, I create a friendly and motivating learning environment.

As an accordion tutor, I focus on creating a supportive environment that encourages students to grow musically and personally. I believe in providing positive feedback, setting achievable goals, and making learning fun to keep students motivated. By teaching with patience and clarity, I help students build confidence and develop a lifelong passion for music.

Rhythm is one of the basics of music, and for me is the most important one. Everything is based on rhythm and it's wonderful to discover the interrelationship between them. I can teach percussion lessons for all levels. Let's discover how wonderful rhythm is!

Possibility to combine music theory with saxophone class! Zoom lessons avilable too!

About me: Master's student at the Sibelius Academy (saxophone classical and contemporary performance) with a lot experience in chamber music and solo performances. Also studying pedagogy as a secondary subject.

With a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering under my belt, I'm embarking on a new chapter in Helsinki. My partner's pursuit of percussion studies at Sibelius Academy brought us here, and I'm eager to dive into the vibrant community while contributing my skills as a caregiver and educator.

Diogo is a curious musician, being part of different projects such as the Kaamos Duo (contemporary music for saxophone and soprano singer), chamber music with pianist Lambis Pavlou and Cantus Portugueses (traditional portuguese music with a modern twist). He also plays as a member of the contemporary music groups Korvat Auki and the Nyky Ensemble.
His main musical interests at the moment are the collaborations with living composers, chamber music with different ensembles, and interdisciplinary improvisation.
Diogo performances have taken place in many venues such as the Philharmonie of Essen, OrchesterZentrum Dortmund, Music Center Helsinki, Turku Castle, Liceu Auditorium Barcelona, Casa da Música do Porto, and many more.

Diogo's recognition includes prizes in some international competitions and the recent recognition at the 2022 Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy competition for Contemporary Ensembles and the recent participation at the prestigious Josip Nochta Competition in Zagreb, Croatia.

Diogo teaches all saxophones and ensemble playing in Portuguese, Spanish, English and German.
