Trusted teacher: Graduated from the Popular Music Faculty with Orientation in Jazz Singing (Argentina). We will work on vocal technique in depth, covering different methods and adapting them to your personal needs. Each person is different and my job will be to discover what your obstacles are when singing, and how I can help you overcome them. My training is academic, so we will exercise the fundamental concepts of classical technique, but we will combine it with the elements of popular music. I specialize in Jazz music, so if you are interested in this style I have a lot of material to share with you and give you my approach on how to approach it. We will work on improvisation as part of this style and as a way to learn to let go of your voice, without fear of detuning or error. Singing is playing, and my ultimate goal is that you can enjoy while you are singing. Apart from Jazz I work with many styles, you can bring me the song you want to interpret, even your own music, if you have. I have been giving private lessons for six years now and I have worked with all kinds of students, many of them came to my classes with fear and lack of confidence, but they all left happy, with good technique and interpreting the music they liked the most. Of course, singing is not the easiest thing in the world, like any other discipline it takes time and dedication. But I promise you that if you work with me weekly and do some daily exercises at home, the results will start to show very quickly. Please do not hesitate to contact me, I am at your disposal. All the best, Mariana.

Trusted teacher: Hi there! Do you want to learn to sing? Well look no further :-) Within your first few lessons, you will be singing in ways you never thought you could! If you are a beginner, we will unlock and overcome any challenges you are facing with singing, and if you are more advanced, we will work on giving you a wide variety of dynamic and style, to break any habit or tendencies to always sing the same way. No matter your level, we will work to build your own unique voice using your own natural nuances and ways that you emote. We will work to build soul and power to your voice! Finally, I specialize in edgy genres of music such as Rock, Alternative, and Metal! If you are interested in learning to add grit, distortion, compression and/or to scream safely, I can teach you this as well! I also have a huge background in classical, musical theater, jazz and R&B. Riffing and agility with technical accuracy are something I personally love working on, and will share tips and tricks to help you fly through notes effortlessly! Q&A: CAN ANYONE LEARN TO SING? The answer is YES. Depending on physicality, practice and time... everyone in their own time span can learn to sing efficiently and with power and emotion. I THINK I´M TONE-DEAF: Well, guess what? There is no such thing! Not being able to match pitches on command has nothing to do with inability or some kind of ¨disorder¨. It´s about muscle memory... we will learn this. I ALWAYS END UP SINGING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER OR SOUNDING THE SAME WAY... We will bust things like imitation and only singing the same riffs over and over, by building aware of how your own natural voice works and applying it to your singing voice. I HATE THE SOUND OF MY OWN VOICE! Well guess what? So do I! So does everyone, even professionals.. and listening back to recordings.. YUCK! (at first).. Everyone is their own worst critic. However, we can learn to analyze your own with a technical ear instead of a critical ear, as well as focus on how the notes feel, and the better they feel the better they will sound... trust me :) In our classes you will learn to sing with ease and, make what was once a challenge to you, very easy! I encourage versatility because I am a highly versatile singer 😊 We address breath support, sound placement, tone, pitch, muscle memory, flexibility, range, diction, dynamic and performance. I am a very technical teacher and I explaim everything in great detail and you will receive notes in an email each week with directions and exercises from the previous lesson. Overall, I LOVE to work with students of all styles and backgrounds, and will challenge those interested in developing technical skill, or ROCK OUT with and just have fun! I look forward to working with you!

As a classically trained opera singer, I offer voice and piano/keyboard instruction to students of all ages and skill levels, and I believe that everyone has the ability to find their inner musician. Through voice or piano instruction, I aim to help each of my students find their unique musical voice while building a foundation of technique, and I encourage my students to embrace mistakes and imperfections in the learning process. I also embrace teaching a variety of genres including pop, jazz, musical theatre, classical, and accompaniment. Most importantly, I hope to inspire a genuine passion for music in each of my voice and piano students. Biography: Born and raised in North Carolina, Kennedy is a classically trained mezzo soprano. She teaches and performs across a wide range of genres, including classical, musical theatre, gospel, and pop. She found her passion for singing and performing at the age of 5 when she began to sing in church, and her love for the performing arts led her to participate in choir and musical theatre throughout school. She has performed roles such as Annie in Annie Get Your Gun and Cat in the Hat in Seussical. Kennedy began piano lessons at age 15 and classical vocal training at age of 17. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from UNC Chapel Hill, where she dove into classical vocal training and performed operatic roles such as the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas and Madame de la Haltière in Cendrillon. It was at UNC that Kennedy fell in love with performing opera and found that classical vocal training also improved her musical theatre and pop repertoire. After studying abroad in London and Florence during her time at UNC, Kennedy decided to return to London to pursue a master’s degree. She graduated in 2020 with a Master of Music in Classical Vocal Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, where she was awarded the Kathleen Roberts Vocal Scholarship. During her time in London, she performed in venues such as The Queen’s House and Blackheath Halls, and sang various operatic roles such as The Third Lady in The Magic Flute, Gertrude in Louise, Ljubica in the contemporary chamber opera Svadba, and as Cenerentola in Cenerentola. She also gained training and experience singing in a wide range of languages, including Italian, French, German, Spanish, and Serbian. In addition to performing, Kennedy has an equal love for teaching and has taught voice and piano for over six years to students across London, North Carolina, and Spain. She currently resides in Madrid, Spain where she works as a music and English teacher.

I hold a doctorate in voice performance and am currently teaching in reputable institutions in the Washington, D.C. area. I work with students ranging from teenagers to adults focusing on classical, musical theatre, and contemporary styles. Meanwhile, I perform in a diverse spectrum of styles and genres, mainly classical, musical theatre, and jazz, both in the United States and abroad. I can help you with: - Exploring your voice - Establishing a healthy vocal technique - Musicality (i.e. musical and stylistic work) - Interpretation & dramatic expression - Lyric diction (Italian, German, French, Spanish, English) - Audition preparation - Performance anxiety & self-confidence A student’s learning experience should be fun, exciting and inspiring, as well as stimulating and challenging. I firmly believe that the teacher’s constructive feedback accelerates the learning process. Through creating a positive, energetic atmosphere, and establishing a safe, friendly environment, I always aim to encourage students to ask questions, share their thoughts and feelings in their learning process, and to exercise their creativity. These explorations are as crucial for the discovery of one’s voice as they are for the development of self-confidence and artistic expression. I look forward to working with you!
