Piano Lessons in Berlin by a German native speakerTranslate this text using Google Translate.

(German version further down) I enjoy teaching because it requires a deeper knowledge of the material than if one is only performing music. I am continuously learning too. I do not think that it is important how old you are or in what environment you grew up. To engage with music as a result of learning an instrument can bring your brain into a healthy state of ongoing change. People who are "without any talent" for music do not exist. Everyone can engage with music and enjoy it. I can teach piano: - involving sheet music or not, depending on what you prefer. - or/and music theory lessons - or/and improvisation - or/and Jazz - or/and Ear Training - or/and Composition. The lessons can be held in English or German or a mixture of both. I teach close to Friedrichstraße in Berlin. The lessons can be done via Skype too. You can read about me as a performing musician here: Julius (*1995) is a German pianist and composer, graduated from the University of Arts Berne in Switzerland in 2017 with honors. In July 2019 he finished his Masters in the European Jazz Masters Program through the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen with exchange semesters in Berlin and Amsterdam. Throughout his studies, he was lucky enough to receive artistic guidance from Colin Vallon, Django Bates, Harmen Fraanje, Simon Toldam, Peter Bruun, Greg Cohen, and Michael Moore. Julius was granted a scholarship by Lyra Stiftung Zürich in 2015 and 2016. Tours with his own bands have been supported by different fundings from Switzerland and Germany. He performed all across Europe during the past years. German: When teaching, it's important to have a deeper understanding of everything than when "just" making music. I'm always learning as a teacher. It doesn't matter how old you are or whether you grew up in a music-rich or music-poor environment. Engaging with music can put our brains into a healthy state of constant change and growth. There are no people who are "talentedless" when it comes to music. Everyone can engage with music and enjoy it. I offer lessons with or without sheet music, depending on your preference. If you're interested, I also teach music theory, improvisation, jazz, ear training, and composition. Classes are held in German or English, or a mixture of both. I teach near Friedrichstrasse in Berlin. Classes can also be held via Skype. Here is an insight into my musical work: Julius (*1995) is a German pianist and composer working in the fields of jazz and improvised music. He completed his bachelor's degree at the Bern University of the Arts in 2017 with distinction. In July 2019, he completed the European Jazz Masters at the Rytmisk Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, with exchange semesters at the Jazz Institute Berlin and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In 2015 and 2016, he received a scholarship from the Lyra Foundation in Zurich. His bands' tours have been regularly supported by German and Swiss foundations in recent years. Julius has played concerts all over Europe in recent years.

Interactive piano lessons & music culture - Learning music as a language: Speak through the pianoTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Interactive piano lessons & music culture - Learning music as a language: Speak through the pianoTranslate this text using Google Translate.

If you are one of these people, then you've come to the right place: * Beginners, children or adults * People with poor piano experience or “stuck” players * Parents who want their children to learn music like a language and develop focus and calmness in the process * Music lovers, musicians or fans of certain styles who want to play creatively themselves Then you've come to the right place. I have been a musician since childhood and play the piano. I have been working as a piano teacher for 5 years. I am also an architect and multidisciplinary artist, exploring the connection between sound and visual art. The lessons focus on piano practice, reading music and a better understanding of music – using methods such as Piano Adventures, Alfred and other modern textbooks. After about 5 months, many of my students see a clear difference in their playing, understanding, and self-confidence. ✨ Suitable for children, beginners and anyone who wants to learn piano in a modern and enjoyable way. For me, music is not a theory, but a language that one lives. Music should be learned and treated like a language. Listening, reading (music), writing and playing. The goal is for you to eventually "speak" music naturally, without thinking too much. Feel free to write to me if you want to know more about my teaching or how I teach music like a second language. Other programs (feel free to ask for details at any time – I'll send you all the information): • Program for musical culture and listening comprehension for children and adult artists • Program: Piano lessons and music reading for all age groups • Basic music theory program for beginners and musicians • Program “Sight-reading” (direct reading and playing of music) Karam Berlin, Friedrichshain

Violin and Piano lessons in English, Classical/Gypsy Jazz/Klezmer/Celtic StylesTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Violin and Piano lessons in English, Classical/Gypsy Jazz/Klezmer/Celtic StylesTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Hello, my name is Oscar and I am a Violin and Piano teacher from the UK, now living in Bristol, after several years of living abroad. I've been teaching and performing on both instruments for 5 years, during, and after my studies at the Royal Northern College of Music. I have taught children from the age of four, up to adults in their late sixties, and I find all spectrums of age and ability rewarding and engaging to work with. Regarding Violin tuition, I am happy to teach up to any level. On the piano, I, however, currently prefer to teach up to an ABRSM grade 8 level, and not far above it. My musical endeavors, whilst focused predominantly on the Classical style in my early childhood, have become quite varied and I am a great lover of many different styles. I play regularly in Klezmer bands, Celtic Folk groups and I run a Gypsy Jazz Collective, besides performing with Orchestra's, Small string ensembles, and as a Solo Violinist. Whilst I wouldn't consider myself to be an expert, I thoroughly enjoy guiding people through the early stages of learning to improvise, and I am equally comfortable working with students in this way as I am teaching in a more traditional, classically-orientated manner. I look forward to hearing from you! Oscar

Whether you’ve never sat down at a keyboard before or you're an experienced player looking for a bit of a push and some friendly accountability, I'm here to help. My lessons are relaxed, and shaped around the music you actually enjoy. We’ll figure out what you want to play and where you want to go musically, then build the practical skills and good habits to get you there. I’ll offer guidance, encouragement, and accountability while helping you become more confident and independent as a musician. Our first lesson is a chance to chat about your experience, interests, and goals. From there, we’ll create a plan that fits where you are now and helps you move toward the music you want to make. All ages and experience levels are welcome! Testimonials: "I've been studying with Dominic for a few years now, and my understanding of jazz harmony has grown massively over that time. He has a great way of adapting lessons to what I'm most curious about, always picking tunes and topics that keep me engaged. On top of that, he's incredibly patient, even when I show up completely unprepared. Lessons with him never feel like a chore, they feel like music." "With Dominic, I’ve really discovered my love for jazz and have gone from almost nothing to a solid level of improvisation. I’m enjoying it a lot!" "I started learning piano with Dominic as an absolute beginner and have not regretted it. Dominic is a very supportive and inspiring teacher! He takes the time to understand my process and interests, and then creatively guides my learning in a very personalised way. I always leave the piano classes with a joyful spring in my step. Dominic has helped me to unlock my creativity and I am really grateful for that!" "It's been such a pleasure to pick up piano at an older age with Dom. Developing understanding of concepts as they come up in the songs we work on together. Improvisation - Learn to improvise & play by ear Discover the joy of improvisation and unleash your creativity. Lessons will have an emphasis on learning and playing by ear and I'll share some tools and approaches for developing your own improvisational style. Rhythm - Cultivate a strong rhythmic foundation. “ I’m so lucky that I was able to have lessons with Jack during my time in Berlin! He creates such a supportive environment for learning — laid back and calm, yet totally professional. After years of me struggling independently with a few pieces, he was able to show me new ways of approaching the music that transformed even the hardest parts into something accessible. He has a lovely and genuine way of offering encouragement / recognizing progress, while still keeping track of the underlying objective; a more far-reaching arc of improvement. I like how he remembers this larger perspective from week to week (especially when I forget), and finds ways to expertly weave the end goal into incremental, manageable steps. I have learned so much from the tools and techniques he’s shared with me, and am grateful to have enjoyed his teaching. ”

“ Working with Victoria is a pleasure! She's very skilled in both music and teaching. She is extremely patient and always makes sure that you finish the class with all your questions answered and goals achieved. She tailors the class towards your needs and always finds a way to explain sometimes complicated concepts. Warmest recommendation! ”

“ Based on a few classes I have had with Mary, I can say she is a knowledgable and passionate teacher, who focuses not only on getting you to develop a playing technique but also on musicality. I feel I am progressing with every lesson. She is a lovely teacher and I would highly recommend her. ”
