Are you looking for a music class for your child but you feel they are not ready for piano or another instrument yet? In my 1 year "Preparatory Music Course" children from the age of 5 till the age of 7 have the opportunity to get introduced to the world of music, with fun and interactive lessons! The lessons at taught in small groups (3-5 students) where they learn all the basics of Rythm, Singing, Piano playing, Improvisation and all the important music skills in a fun way! This happens by incorporating specific group "games", instructed by the teacher and it is the best way for young children to start understanding music. After the course, the students are prepared to follow lessons on a specific Instrument of their choice. Location: Rijswijk

For children, I focus on making the first steps into music playful and exciting. I use age-appropriate exercises, simple songs, and creative activities that spark their curiosity and keep them motivated. My aim is to nurture not only their technical growth, but also their natural sense of rhythm, imagination, and love for music. For adults, I offer lessons that can be adapted to a wide range of goals. Some students come to me wanting to enjoy music as a relaxing hobby, and for them I design engaging and enjoyable lessons that build confidence step by step. Others are preparing for conservatory entrance exams, orchestra repertoire, performance opportunities, and with them I work on developing advanced technique, musical expression, and audition readiness. In every case, I create a supportive and structured environment that helps students stay motivated and progress steadily.

Start the new course learning to play piano! I am a professional classical pianist, accompanist, creator, and composer with a Bachelor's Degree from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and a Master's Degree from the Royal Conservatorium in the Hague. For 7 years now, I have been teaching students of all levels between 5 and 60 years old. Lessons are based on your level, interests, and goals. Together we can find out if you are keener on classical repertoire, or if you want to play your favorite pop music, some beautiful soundtrack from a movie you like or compose/improvise new pieces. With my experience in teaching diverse genres, I will help you explore the music that you like. The central pillars I always work with are technique and creativity, which are much more connected than you would expect! While we advance, I also introduce the basics (or more deeply, if you are interested) of music theory to learn to communicate with each other in musical terms (chords, keys, score reading, etc.). And above all, the goal is to enjoy and have fun!

Music is in our everyday life, whether we realise it or not. To go into music and start learning it is as natural as learning how to walk, cycle, or even breathe! Whichever the instrument, It is one of the most beautiful experiences we can give ourselves, bound to take us to new and undiscovered places. My name is João, I'm from Portugal, I'm 27 years of age, and I have a bachelor in jazz from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. I've been playing piano all my life, and can't wait to share what I've learned with you! I teach piano to all ages from beginner to intermediate. Although I have a program, I will let you create your own path, taking into account the several landmarks I create according to your level and needs. Teaching is all about the individuality of each person I work with, and as a student myself, I find it to be one of the most important points in teaching. I focus mainly on jazz, but since music theory and harmony touch all kinds of music, I am open to the suggestions you bring into class. The lessons will focus on learning music through listening, as well as introducing the student to music theory, and reading scores. Whether you like Pop, Jazz, Bossa Nova, or Classical, all music comes from the same place, so let's dive in! In my experience it is important to follow you as a student on the amount of time we spend in lesson, so the length of the lesson is determined by you in the moment, and what we are working on in the lesson. Because of this my rate per lesson in fixed, so depending on the moment and you we can have bigger or smaller lessons. If you wish to do things differently I am open to discussing it!

As a pianist I like to share in the passion of students. I patiently guide young and older students in their first steps on the keyboard. And with the same drive I take advanced students into the story they tell in their pieces.

Piano is surely amongst the most interesting instrument in the world for a simple reason: compared to the other instruments that are usually limited to one voice, piano uses the ten fingers at the same time, giving hundreds of possibilities of different voicings and harmony. I am a French student studying in the Hague. My passion has always been piano. I did 9 years in a French music academy where I finished the entire curriculum. I have been teaching piano to 4 students the two last years in London and I am willing to continue transmitting my passion now that I am in the Hague. I teach piano to people of all age, without omitting to mention a little bit of music theory so that students get a clear understanding of the instrument they are playing. All this in a fun way! For example, understanding and analyzing how modern tubes and hit songs are made is a fun way to learn music without necessarily using a more conventional method. My students can play whatever music they want, from classical pieces, to jazz themes, all the way to modern tic-toc songs, I always let them play what they want. The most important is to enjoy, this is the really key to progress.
