Private Piano Lessons: Classical and Jazz, Pop Performance/TheoryTranslate this text using Google Translate.

The lessons will delve into both the technical and musical aspects of piano playing, theory, reading music, harmony, ear training, technique, pedagogy and more. My aim is to equip students to understand different music styles, build confidence, discover their unique voice and continue their musical journey independently. As Thelonious Monk said, the piano ain’t got no wrong notes. I'm passionate about traversing genres since I have studied both jazz and classical to a high level, making this class perfect for creative pianists and composers who want to go beyond reading music off a piece of paper. Trinity/ABRSM curriculum upto Grade 8, can also be optionally included. Teaching effective practice methods is a priority, ensuring students progress confidently and without leaning on me. Please note, I only teach in person to maintain high standards of guidance in technique. This is not possible via video conferencing. Since everyone asks: yes, I did study at Berklee College of Music as an undergraduate for some time, and I do help students out with their audition preparation for various music colleges! Currently, my students are between 14 and 74 years old— I believe that it’s never too late or too early to begin your musical journey. I look forward to your requests and have two vacant spots remaining in my roster for Winter 2025. Book now!

SINGING LESSON // TECHNIQUE // JAZZ // IMPROVISATION //Translate this text using Google Translate.

Teaching has been an extraordinary tool for my personal development as a vocalist. It’s fascinating to observe how the posture and vocal challenges of my students can reveal certain aspects of their personality. As a singer, your body is your instrument, and any physical or psychological issues can directly affect your voice. Through teaching, I have realized the profound impact that practicing singing has on my overall well being. It is not only helps me take care of my body but also enables me to feel confident and at ease when standing in front of individuals or even a large audience without hiding behind an instrument. This sense of comfort and confidence extends beyond the realm of singing and positively influences my personal growth as a person. My goal is to instill this mindset in my students. I believe it is more beneficial to approach singing not as a tedious practice, but as a profound discipline that contributes to their overall well-being and adds value to their everyday lives. When we view singing in this light, it becomes an uplifting factor that goes beyond technical exercises and becomes a source of joy, personal growth, and empowerment. “ Yuvraj is a wonderful teacher! I've been studying piano for half a year with him, and the progress never stops. He teaches everything that you need to be a pianist, including the technique, classical theory, jazz theory, as well as how to find good new songs. Within the few months that I've had him, he quickly took me from having zero practical music knowledge to being able to read and play Trinity grade 3 songs on my own. Yuvraj always tries to make piano something fun and enjoyable, rather than just another annoying thing to grind all the time. This is the guy for those who want to learn with a relaxed, slow and steady attitude. Even better if you're down to challenge yourself with new, unconventional music that you might not expect. While I don't really have anything to compare him to, I am very happy learning piano with Yuvraj. ”

“ I've had a really good experience with the lessons! The teacher has been helpful and everything has gone well. Although I've decided not to pursue, I would definitely recommend Lorenzo to other students. ”

“ Good lessons, explains complex concepts well, and gives clear goals. A lot of knowledge of different music styles too, so lot of possibilities to learn if you like different music styles. ”
