Violin lessons for beginners and advanced players of all ages

I offer beginners and advanced players professional instrumental lessons for viola. I will try to work towards your goals and requirements so that you can develop as a musician. My teaching is technically precise on the one hand, but it also promotes your musical creativity and enthusiasm, for example by making music together. Perhaps you are already playing the violin and would like to switch to the viola to play in the orchestra or in a chamber music ensemble, or you are curious about the somewhat less familiar instrument of the string family. I would like to pass on my passion to you to bring the beauty of the viola closer to the general public. At the end of my pedagogical studies at the ZhdK for instrumental lessons, I am an intern in the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and an active chamber musician in various ensembles.

I am currently a student at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. I'm in my third bachelor's degree. I have been taking harp lessons for 13 years with various renowned teachers such as Eline Groslot and Annie Lavoisier. During this period I also gained a lot of experience as a concert harpist. Including the second prize in the Concours Français de la Harpe (2017). And for 3 years I also give private lessons in harp and solfège. These lessons focus on both (young) children who want to learn harp and adults who want to start using harp. Each student is guided at his own pace and the lessons are adapted to the wishes of each student. Note learning lessons are also adjusted as much as possible to the student's pace.

Folk or classical acoustic guitar. The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation. For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...). For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...). Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. Approaching music and having no clue of these elements can totally be intimidating and off-putting, but in 2023 I feel like it’s a pity that these subjects still are looked at with such a fear. I want to prove to you that building this basic knowledge can be easy, accessible, and not heavy at all! My program is not fixed: I’ll build it on your specific needs, whether they are preparing an exam, curiosity, or getting better at pitch matching... we will discuss it together. I have many books and materials, and I honestly prefer to draw blackboards by myself a lot of times.
