I'm an English teacher for more than six years and I have plenty of experience. At the beginning of the course, studying material is particularly selected for each student depending on their level of knowledge. After the type of course is determined, focus is on the weak spots and improving whatever skill a student is lacking in. Speaking is always emphasized. In class students can suggest other materials, books etc and ask for lessons they want to study. Asking questions is always a good thing and cooperation between teacher and a student is crucial.
