With 14 years of playing guitar and 5 years of teaching all ages (starting from 8 years old), I’ve developed a knack for making learning fun and engaging for my students. I’ve recently written a book called "Modern Method of Learning Guitar," which will be published soon. It sums up my teaching philosophy and the program I’ve created over the years. This other class would cover a range of electric guitar techniques, from classic rock-inspired "Little Wing-ish" hammer-ons and pull-offs to harder rock styles like fast picking, sweep picking and pinch harmonics. It can also be on a completely different path, where we dive into both open and muted funk techniques with a pick. Of course, this course will also be structured around and practiced with the specific songs you'd like to learn and play. I grew up studying classical guitar and playing rock guitar (Austin is a great city for rock!) before studying Jazz at the prestigious Thornton School of Music at USC in Los Angeles.
