Lessons in Graz! Hello! Have you always wanted to learn the saxophone, clarinet, flute (recorder)? Would you like a learning atmosphere that builds on positivity and leads to the desired learning success while having fun with the instrument? Then come to me for lessons on your desired woodwind instrument and learn jazz and/or classical with me! I also offer music theory classes (jazz theory or classical music theory) and early music education. Briefly to me: My musical career began in elementary school, later followed by the music secondary school in Weiz and then the music high school in Graz. At the age of 6 I learned to play the recorder, until I switched to the saxophone at the age of 8. After studying at the music school in Gleisdorf, I went to the Graz Conservatory and after graduating from the music high school, I studied at the University of Music & Performing Arts Vienna (MDW), where I did vocal and instrumental pedagogy (IGP) at the Institute for Popular Music with a focus Studied classical sax. I took my own instrumental lessons from Richard Winkler, Wolfgang Puschnig, Martin Fuss, Klaus Dickbauer and Fabian Rucker, among others. There are also countless workshops with e.g. Branford Masalis, Randy Brecker, Torsten Skringer etc. In my career, instruments such as piano, clarinet and flute were added. I'm a professional musician myself and play in bands such as "Candlelight Ficus", "Die Ranzler", "Moneka Group" and "Matho & Das Vienna Dancehall Orchestra", as well as jobs with big bands, DJ's and much more. Clarinet is a wonderful wind instrument that has a clear and warm sound and can play music of various genres. It sounds great in classical music, jazz, pop, folk music and many many others. Clarinet lessons at all levels: from absolute beginners to advanced players. For me as a teacher it is very important to start from the wishes, needs and competences of the student himself. You can follow lessons via webcam, or at your home near the Ghent - Kortrijk region. If you don't have an instrument available, you can rent one from me. This offer is limited, so please inquire if you're interested. Regarding music and other material: that is taken by me. Below you can find some information about myself: Today - after completing an extensive selection procedure - Laurens is professionally active as a clarinetist with the Royal Marine Band, one of the prestigious orchestras of the Belgian army. In addition to his education at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, Laurens has had the opportunity to learn several times in a number of masterclasses by, among others, Arno Piters (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra), Davide Lattuada (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra), Bart de Karter (New Amsterdam Clarinet Quartet), Pascal Moragues (Orchester de Paris), Ricardo Mataredonna (The La Monnaie Theatre), David Van Maele (Royal Music Chapel of the Guides), Bart Watté (Royal Music Chapel of the Guides) etc. Both as a freelancer and an active member, Laurens has played in various orchestras, such as the Royal Band of the Belgian Air Force, Frascati Symphonic, the Euregio Youth Orchestra, the Mahler Student Festival Orchestra, La Chapelle Sauvage, Flanders Young Symphony Orchestra, the Ghent University Symphony Orchestra, the Ghent University Harmony Orchestra... Since 2021, Laurens has been a member of the Meraki Wind Quintet, with which he has already successfully participated in a number of competitions, including the IMC International Music Competition 2023 (1er Prix à l'unanimité), the Euterpe Music Awards 2022 (gold prize), the Classic Pure Vienna International Music Competition 2022 (special mention), and the Fanny Mendelssohn International Online Competition 2022/23 (second prize). In addition, Laurens is also active as a conductor, both in a symphonic and harmonic orchestra. Hi! I am Jaime, a Spanish clarinetist and composer from Madrid, and I currently live and work in Amsterdam. I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the Amsterdam Conservatory cum laude. As a clarinetist, I regularly play with various top Dutch orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Netherlands Wind Ensemble. I have also performed at international festivals and academies. But what I enjoy most about music is sharing it with others! That is why I take great pleasure in teaching clarinet to both beginners and advanced players. Whether you are just starting to play the clarinet, want to improve your technique, are preparing for an audition, or simply want to enjoy making music: we can fully tailor the lessons to your level, goals, and interests. I think it is important that lessons are not only educational, but also relaxed and fun. We work on a good foundation, musicality, and self-confidence, and of course on the music YOU want to play.
