I find a balance of theory and learning songs a good approach, normally trying to show you how you can use what you have learnt.

I am an experienced and energetic composer, musician and tutor offering music lessons to students of any age, interest and ability. I strive to make sure all lessons are exciting and stimulating. Each lesson is designed to match your needs and extend your knowledge and experience in music.

Piano lessons provided for beginner/intermediate students of all ages up to grade 8. The class will cover but is not limited to: scales, pieces, sight-reading, aural, technique, music theory. Performances can be arranged for the student if they feel that would benefit them.

I am a vastly experienced violinist and composer with a Masters Degree from the prestigious Lucerne Hochschule - Musik in Switzerland and Postgraduate Degree from Trinity Laban in London. I'm a very dedicated teacher, who loves to work with students from all age groups and levels of experience - one of the joys of teaching for me has been to help others find their own potential through consistent work.

I structure the class around three different aspects:
* addressing technical issues - intonation, bow technique and sound quality, posture
* music making - learning about the style of each composer/of each piece, developing repertoire
* interpretation - understanding harmony, finding an emotional connection with each of the pieces
As part of the weekly-lessons, I provide you with exercises and tools to be able to follow-up on the above. We will work together towards reaching your goals and potential, whilst maintaining a balance between the joy of music-making and achieving a high quality.
