Flute lessons - for all levels and for all ages!

I think it's important for children that flute lessons are also music education. For beginners, we get to know the breathing technique through creative games, the "blow competition" with crumpled paper balls is particularly popular. We learn the rhythms with claps and rhymes, but I often explain the bar structure by assembling Lego blocks. I show musicality and technique accompanied by songs, improvisation, playing the flute or piano together. You don't even notice, you're so good at it that you can give your family your own concert. And if you already play the flute, bring your favorite pieces, even pop songs, to class! If you're playing with a band, I'll give you ideas and tips. If you already know all the tones, I'll even show you new techniques like whistling or drumming on the flute. There is always something new and surprising on this instrument! Together we will explore the flute instrument in more detail and set out to achieve your wish or goal - be it learning a song by Billie Eilish, playing her favorite piece at grandma's birthday party, working on your technique and your fingers to train them so that they can play very fast passages, to discover new music with me in class and have fun, or, or, or! Beginners as well as advanced or returnees of all ages are welcome. I myself come from Aargau, but live and study in Bern at the University of the Arts. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in education. In addition to great chamber music and improvisation projects, I play and organize in the Bern student orchestra. I also have many years of experience with wind orchestras and enjoy leading register rehearsals. In addition to music, I really enjoy being in nature, for example in the mountains or the refreshing Aare. I also enjoy reading and am interested in psychological topics. I look forward to making music with you!

Learn to play the flute! First, we will focus on the sound production, the position of the mouthpiece and your posture. Then we will deal with playful pieces, we can play in duet and play melodies that you like. Playing the flute will help you develop your memory, hearing and breathing skills.

My name is Nikolai and I am a professional flautist. I have been in this wonderful field for 14 years and am always moving forward. I come from Saint Petersburg, where I graduated from the classical lyceum "Kikin Hall" and the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory. I have been in Switzerland for three years and during this time I have completed Bachler classical music at the University of the Arts and am now enrolled in the Master Pedagogue at the HKB. I have been teaching transverse flute at the Schmitten and Niederscherli music school for 2 years and I have been teaching privately for 5 years. My course is extremely flexible - we can work with songs and songs you love, as well as the most difficult etudes and large repertoire pieces. But what always remains is a good mood, a friendly atmosphere, professional methods (correct position of the instrument, correct breathing and easy technique) and joy in music!

My name is Texenén, I am a flute/piccolo player living in Maastricht with more than 15 years of teaching experience. If you want to learn about how to perform it you first need a teacher educated by masters on this field. As of many teachers you can find online but you make sure that not every tutor meets with traditional style. Solfege and method are inseperable parts of the lessons. So for beginners and intermediate students must follow a compotent tutor to learn about the way of classic form.

Chris is a New York City-based multi-instrumentalist. A passionate composer and improviser, he has performed as a leader and sideman throughout New York, Boston, Colorado and abroad over the past 15 years. Chris attended the Manhattan School of Music (MM ‘25) and the New England Conservatory of Music (BM ‘23). He has taught privately and within public schools over the past eight years, and loves to help students cultivate their passion for music and instrumental performance. Students can choose to focus entirely on their instrument (saxophone, clarinet, and flute), or can specifically study improvisation, jazz composition, music theory, and ear training. While primarily a jazz musician, Chris is trained in a wide variety of musics including classical, which he diligently studied on the clarinet; popular music and R&B; and world musics, including Brazilian (Choro/Bossa/Samba), Latin-American (Bomba/Timba/Rumba), and West-African styles (Agbekor/Gahu). Some of Chris's many accomplishments include being recognized as a YoungArts Jazz Performance winner for four years in a row; performing abroad in Europe with the inaugural NYO Jazz Band, receiving a Community Performances and Partnerships Ensemble Fellowship at New England Conservatory, and also receiving the George Whitefield Chadwick Medal of musical and academic performance. Chris emphasizes a teaching approach that prioritizes connecting with the student and engaging them in what they’re specifically interested in, while also covering the fundamentals essential to developing ones skills on their instrument or in their field of study. He offers lessons in person, primarily at students's personal residences, and also online via Zoom, Google Meet, or FaceTime (although in person is highly recommended).
