My approach to singing lessons is based on developing and improving the voice in a technical and expressive way, while enjoying the learning process. 1. Body Awareness: We begin by working on posture, breathing, and relaxation to prepare the body as a vocal instrument. By becoming more aware of our body, we'll become more conscious of how we use our voice, and our singing will be more natural and fluid. 2. Vocal Warm-up: We perform specific exercises to activate the voice, including scales, arpeggios, and resonance techniques. These exercises help improve vocal range, intonation, and projection. 3. Repertoire Work: Choose a song you like (or we can choose one together) and we'll explore it in depth. We'll develop vocal technique by applying it directly to performance, working on expression, diction, and musical style. 4. Custom Development: Each class is tailored to your needs and goals. Progress is measured through songs that reflect your musical interests, ensuring a unique and motivating experience. We develop a long-term lesson plan. My lessons are for all levels, but only for enthusiastic students who want to work intensively. This means at least one hour of lessons per week. In addition to playing the piano, a lot of attention is paid to harmony, solfége and rhythm. Pianist Koenraad has been playing since he was six years old. While classical music has always been a passion throughout his life, he also explores world music, jazz, improv, film scoring and electronic music. From a young age, he studied jazz rhythm and drums alongside piano. Mainly a soloist, he also enjoys working as a collaborative pianist in the Lied genre and is an enthusiastic chamber music player. Performs in world music and improvisation festivals as well as an orchestral pianist and répétiteur. He is currently preparing for further study in the field of film and game scoring. His biggest music love is that of the work of Scriabin, a composer he feels “carries it all”.

Hello, I am Francesca and I have been playing the drums for some years now. I have a bachelor and a master's in science but I chose to make a turning point in my life and study music. I was admitted in the conservatory of Groningen in 2021, in the jazz departement but after successfully completing 2 years, I chose to leave the academic institution. I would like to share the artistry and joy of drumming but also the knowledge I have gained so far, with students of all ages and especially beginners. In my lessons, I focus on practical skills like rhythm, coordination, and technique. We work through exercises and songs together, tailored to each student's goals and abilities. My approach is hands-on and encouraging. I know that learning drums can be challenging, so I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and pushing their limits. Whether they're aiming to nail their favorite song or just want to have fun jamming, I'm there to guide them every step of the way. Through patient instruction and a passion for music, I aim to instill not only drumming skills but also a lifelong love for making music. It's about more than just hitting the right beats—it's about feeling the rhythm and expressing yourself behind the kit.

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

My classes are different depending on your level and age. With children from 7 to 12, we start by doing easy vocalization and start training the ear with intonation, we then have fun singing your favorite songs. With teenagers, I also start with some vocalization, a little more elaborate. Depending on the student's capabilities, we start establishing a comfortable range for them and then proceed to singing. For my older students ideally, I divide our lesson into 2 sections. We work on respiration and how the diaphragm works. We do scales and arpeggios and work on intonation. We then proceed to singing and putting into practice our technique. Some students might need more technique before they actually sing, I like to take things slowly and make sure the student feels confident and comfortable singing. I teach children, teenagers, and adults, from beginners to more advanced. Classical training enables you to sing in any kind of way, so don’t hesitate and let’s sing!

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts.
