Looking for a piano teacher? In Utrecht you will find the friendly Spanish professional pianist Mar. She lives in Utrecht and studies at the Rotterdam Codarts Conservatory of Music, and has already a master's degree from the Utrecht Conservatory (with pedagogical training as well) She teaches in English, Spanish, Italian, German and soon in Dutch. Lessons can take place at your place or at my place (in the centre of Utrecht) as I have a beautiful grand piano at my disposal. In Utrecht (and surroundings) Houten, Vleuten, De Mern, Amsterdam and Rotterdam. For young, teenagers and adults, all levels, no previous experience necessary. Hallo allemaal! My name is Mar and I am a 26-year-old professional pianist (with pedagogical training) graduated from the master degree in Classical Piano Performance as soloist at the Utrecht Conservatory, now studying a second master in Piano Performance in Rotterdam, Codarts. I have been working for 12 years as a piano and music teacher (I started very very young, when I was 14 years old, because I always liked teaching): I have experience in private lessons and official state music schools, with children from 2 years and adults of all levels, both individually and in groups. I have taught piano, music and movement for children, music theory, solfeggio and choir. I finished my bachelor studies with the highest marks, I have experience as a concert performer and have won many international prizes in competitions as well as scholarships prizes. I hope to have the pleasure that we both learn by making music together, do not hesitate to contact me! Flexible timetable and teaching adapted to the student's preferences

Music Theory Lessons for Children and Adults (Grades 1-8 ABRSM)Translate this text using Google Translate.

Music Theory Lessons for Children and Adults (Grades 1-8 ABRSM)Translate this text using Google Translate.

As an experienced music theory tutor and professional pianist, I use a curriculum established by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in the UK to guide students from grades 1-8 (beginning up to early-advanced levels) towards mastery of music theory. We can start from the beginning and work your way up, or find a suitable level based on prior knowledge. My students regularly achieve highest marks in the ABRSM exams following this system. However, if exams are not your goal, and you would simply like a deeper level of theoretical understanding of your music pieces, we apply the insights gained from this course directly to the pieces you are studying without a lot of stress. Course components include: Notation and solfège Rhythm Meter Scales + Arpeggios Intervals Chords Cadences Harmonic Function Form and Analysis My background in music theory derives from my professional musical training in the USA where I followed advanced honors-level music theory, ear-training, musical analysis, and orchestral conducting courses in addition to my regular piano performance studies. The insights provided from these analytical courses have proved immensely beneficial to my own life as a pianist. This knowledge not only speeds up the learning process for a musical piece, but also increases confidence in performance by enhancing memorization skills and providing a higher level of awareness of the components which drive musical phrasing and expression. A knowledge of music theory is therefore a crucial element for proficiency of any instrument and a huge aid to any serious music student.

Online Piano Assessment and Summer Piano Reset PlanTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Online Piano Assessment and Summer Piano Reset PlanTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Fully online piano assessment and focused follow-up lessons in English for serious students who want a clear professional view of their current level, their main technical-musical bottleneck and the next practical steps. This is not a casual lesson. It is a structured professional assessment for students who practise regularly but do not fully understand why their playing still does not sound free, stable, expressive or convincing. I am a Russian-trained concert pianist and piano educator with more than 20 years of teaching experience, international performance background, recordings, masterclasses and academic-level teaching experience. I teach piano as an integrated system: sound, movement, rhythm, phrasing, memory, musical understanding and intelligent practice. During the assessment, I look at the student’s playing as a complete musical and technical system: — sound and tone quality — body coordination and technical freedom — rhythm, pulse and inner stability — phrasing and musical direction — articulation and dynamics — reading and understanding the score — voice balance, harmony, form and musical logic — memory and reliability — practice method and self-checking skills After the session, the student receives a written summary with the main observations, the central bottleneck and a concrete practice plan for the next stage of work. Possible formats: 1. Piano Assessment / Piano Reset 60 minutes online + written summary with a concrete practice plan 2. Piano Assessment + 4 focused follow-up lessons After the assessment, we can continue with 4 online lessons focused on improving the main bottleneck: reading, rhythm, sound, movement, phrasing, memory or practice strategy. Format: assessment session + 4 focused online lessons This format can be especially useful during the summer break, before the new school year, before an exam, recording or performance, after a long break from piano, or when the student feels that regular practice is not bringing the expected progress. The goal is not simply to add more pieces or more practice time. The goal is to understand what exactly is blocking progress and to build a clearer, more effective way of working. Please write to me with a short description of the student’s age, level, current repertoire and what feels most difficult at the moment.
