Trusted teacher: Since 2020: +2000 hours of classes, +160 students of all ages and levels, including at the Rock School Barbey in Bordeaux (2021-2024). 1) THE COURSES After a 15-minute phone call, the first lesson lasts 1 hour 15 minutes + 15 minutes = 30 minutes free! The following lessons last 1 hour and 15 minutes because 1 hour is too short for the lesson to be complete and enjoyable :) My goal is to make you self-reliant while giving you as few lessons as possible. Lessons take place in my home studio in Bordeaux or via video call using Google Meet and Listento (a high-quality, latency-free audio streaming plugin that I pay for for my students). I can also come to your home (+€10). First lesson = Setting up and getting started with the software After 3 lessons = You know the software and the basic concepts After 5 lessons = You start to become independent** After 10 lessons = You know how to produce a complete track and understand the basics of mixing and mastering** (10 lessons purchased = one lesson free) **Provided you practice on your own! 2) THE TOOLS In DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) production, you will need headphones and a computer with sufficient performance to create your music (feel free to ask me if you have any questions). Whether using Ableton or other software (Logic Pro, Cubase, FL Studio...), the courses are aimed at beginners wishing to get started, intermediate users wishing to consolidate their skills, and advanced users wishing to refine their technique! You will have access to a Google Drive containing everything you need to progress in computer music: - Sample pack - Classes - Exercises - Plugins - Useful links 3) THE SUBJECTS During the lessons, we will be able to cover the following topics: - Installing Ableton Live 12 - Plugin installation - Glossary and basics of home studio - Rhythm and melody (audio and MIDI) - Recording (synthesizers, instruments, vocals) - Sampling - Basics of music theory and harmony - Arrangement and construction of a piece - Sound synthesis and sound design - Workflow (shortcuts, interface, tips) - Analysis of your tastes and influences - Mixing and mastering - Music Marketing - Computer Science I'll still be reachable via WhatsApp while you're practicing on your end :)

Do you want to produce your tracks without getting lost in the technical details? I'll teach you Cubase and DAW software the way I learned it myself: without music theory, but with method and creativity. The goal is not to apply formulas, but to develop a working method adapted to each project. This may involve analyzing a piece in progress, resolving technical or creative blocks, optimizing sound, or even organizing a Cubase session. I offer concrete tools, attentive listening, and precise support to move your musical project forward in the right direction. About the course: Composition & Arrangement Musical structure & storytelling: learning to build solid and coherent pieces (intro, bridges, choruses, etc.). Creating guitar riffs and harmonies: rhythmic, melodic and stylistic work according to your level. Text writing & vocal placement: rhythm, phrasing, accuracy of intentions. Organization in the DAW (Cubase): clear structure, tempo, grids, dynamics. Art direction & atmospheres: defining a unique and coherent sound universe, from the riff to the background texture. Pre-production & Sound Design Effective session preparation: choice of tools, sounds, project organization. Custom guitar/bass sound creation: virtual amps, IRs, custom effects chains. Modern recording techniques: layering, harmonies, double-tracking, multiple takes. Sound sculpture & textures: asserting the personality of each instrument. Integration of atmospheres and textures: cinematic, orchestral or electronic textures. Advanced sound design: modulations, automation, unconventional effects. Recording & Editing Effective voice recording: artistic direction, placement, interpretation. Fast & clean editing: assembly, alignment, natural corrections. Collaboration & Communication Knowing how to work with other musicians: conveying ideas, communicating with a mixer or sound engineer, maintaining an overall vision. Mixing & Finalization Clear and productive session organization: routing, buses, colors, naming. Using the main mixing tools: Compression: dynamic management EQ: Frequency balance Delay & Reverb: space and depth Limiting: level control Special FX (ring mods, filters, etc.): to go further with the texture Export preparation: stereo, stems, separate tracks, formats suitable for mixing or mastering. In summary The goal is not to follow a fixed method, but to make concrete progress on a real musical project, regardless of the starting level. The idea is to start with a desire, a sound, a riff, a feeling... and turn it into a solid, inspired, controlled piece. This is what I have been doing for twenty years, and what I pass on here with rigor. Online lessons are available. Cubase is recommended but not required. You can work with other DAWs or directly with stems/audio files as needed.

I started making music as an adult. I always had that drive as a kid, but my family could not afford the lessons. Then life kicked in and there was always a good reason not to get into it. Until one day this old dream popped back up, and I stepped into a music store and got my first DJ controller. This completely changed my life, and a few years later I moved to Berlin to start a full course as a music production student. Fast forward a decade or so and I completely changed carreers and deep delved into sound engineering. Making music is a place of joy and fulfillment. The only regret I have is to have kept myself from doing it for such a long time. DO NOT WAIT, there is a great deal of happiness on the other side. I have a tried and true method that I tested on dozens of students, both in workshops and one on one sessions. It's designed to let you access the "having fun" parts in the least amount of time. This approach actually makes the learning curve much smoother, and lets you experiment on your own very quickly. Theory becomes more and more relevant as you go and perfect your skills, but I strongly believe that unlocking the joy potential early while building good habits is the key to any learning experience. Wether you are interested to get into DJing, Music Production or Mix Engineering, wether you are a complete beginner or have started to develop those skills on your own, I can help you streamline the process, avoid the pitfalls, debunk the myths, and accompany as you grow as a musician, regardless of the genres you're into.

Marloes does an excellent job of understanding the student's needs and goals. Always attentive during the lessons, she provides clear/targeted feedback on areas of improvement and actively listens to your singing. Most importantly, she creates a comfortable/safe environment to experiment with your voice. As a beginner in singing, I highly recommend anyone who wants to get started singing to take lessons with her!

After the first few lessons I can say that Ivan is serious about his craft. His lessons are tailored to the needs of the student and he pays a lot of attention to technique and good posture, which for a beginner guitar player like myself is especially important. On top of that Ivan is just a very nice guy, easy to talk to and able to explain concepts and theory in an understandable way.
