With my years of experience as a violin teacher in Belgium, France and New Zealand, I offer private lessons adapted to all levels. I have been passionate about the violin since the age of 6. After graduating from the academy, I had the chance to study with Mr. Benderski, a talented Ukrainian teacher, to improve my skills. During the last 10 years, I have also played in various music groups, which has allowed me to develop a versatile approach to the instrument. I love working with children and helping adults improve. My teaching method is based on understanding and listening to the needs of each student. I strive to create a positive and encouraging learning environment so that my students feel comfortable and progress at their own pace. In addition to teaching classical repertoire, I am also proficient in jazz improvisation. I have played a lot of gypsy jazz on my travels, which has allowed me to develop skills in improvisation and jazz style. I am happy to share my passion and my knowledge in this field with my students. Trusted teacher: Are you interested in violin/viola lessons that are fun and enriching? I have over 10 years experience as a violin and viola teacher and I have a master of Viola Performance and a Bachelor of Music in Violin & Viola Performance and Pedagogy. I have performed across the world, following the music to Australia, New Zealand, China, Singapore, Germany, France, Austria, and Finland. I also compose my own music for myself and my students. It is very important for me as a teacher to support my students to have freedom of self expression and a strong technical foundation on their instrument. I want my students to love music and to love their instrument. We look into music history and listen to a wide range of musical styles. In each lesson I include an improvisation or composing activity so that every student is able to have the chance to share their musical identity and to gain self confidence. In the lessons I encourage my students to analyse the music and to make their own solutions to practice: with younger children musical challenges become small games while for teenagers and adults they are musical puzzles to be solved. I have a focus on freeing the body to play the violin as naturally as possible inspired by how Feldenkrais Technique helped me as a student. I know that it is much more enjoyable to practice when one is pain free and feeling balanced and relaxed. I include a small warm up routine into our lessons and am always careful to introduce new playing techniques with a relaxed posture. Feeling nervous before any kind of public performance is normal and part of being a musician. I encourage all of my students to conquer their fear and to feel wonderful in their playing. It is so important to have a chance to play for others and to share music is a special gift. Visualising, memorising and breathing techniques are part of the confidence boosting preparations for students who would like to give performing a go.

Elvis left a good impression after our first lesson, since I had a sense he loves music and likes teaching. He came across as very professional, flexible and is good with kids as well as adults. Very happy with my first lesson. Silvia is kind, enthusiastic and explains everything thoroughly and in such a way it's easy to understand. We covered a lot of topics because I was very eager to learn, and she left me with a lot of fun and interesting exercises to practice until our next lesson.
