For who? My classes are aimed at a wide audience: children, amateurs, students, adults, professionals... If you want to learn the piano with pleasure, you've come to the right place! I adapt to my students' desires and seek to teach them the right methods to progress and gain autonomy. I am open to all musical styles (classical, contemporary music, etc.). I had the opportunity to take a music training course for people with disabilities and to work with children with dyslexia. Where? Classes take place at Studio Notturno (a 3-minute walk from Glacière M6 / 7 minutes from Gobelins M7). Schedules are flexible (daytime or evening) and can be adapted to your needs (work, exams, holidays, etc.). When? The course schedule is generally weekly, but I would be happy to teach you at a slower pace, or in one-off courses (exam preparation, etc.). Sessions are flexible and can take place during the day or in the evening. I also organize intensive courses during school or summer holidays (to be defined together). About me After completing my musical studies and obtaining my diploma, I chose to devote myself to teaching piano and musical training, with the desire to share my passion with all audiences. For several years, I have been teaching in conservatories in the Paris region. At the same time, I also give private and corporate lessons, which enriches my practice and allows me to adapt to a wide variety of profiles, in different and stimulating contexts. I am committed to welcoming all student profiles, especially those with disabilities, by adapting my methods and objectives to their specific needs. My approach is inclusive, caring, and individualized. Great importance is placed on listening, pedagogical creativity, and recognizing progress. My goal is to enable everyone to flourish through musical practice. Music should be accessible to all. Caring, patient and educational... ... I offer piano and composition lessons for advanced musicians, to refine their technique, enhance their performance, or prepare for competitive exams (CRR, CNSM). Customized support, with listening, pleasure, and high standards! Below is my biography. A graduate of the Juilliard School of Music (New York), Jules studied with John Corigliano (1999 Oscar winner for Best Film Music), who praised him as “a remarkable talent with impeccable technique.” Alongside his studies in philosophy, he has received several distinctions: the Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet Foundation for Vocation (2010), the Excellence Scholarship from the Catholic Institute of Paris (2013), the Banque Populaire Corporate Foundation (2015), the Île-de-Créations competition (2017), the Grand Prix Lycéen des Compositeurs (2019) and the Bartók World Competition (2023). His collaborations include artists such as Jodie Devos, Bruno Philippe, Thomas Dunford, Anastasia Kobekina, Kotaro Fukuma, Justin Taylor, Frank Braley, Paul Meyer, the Hermès Quartet, the Zadig Trio, as well as orchestras including the Orchestre National d'Île-de-France, the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Orchestre de Picardie, the Toulon Opera Orchestra, and the Æon Music Ensemble. His work spans a wide spectrum, from solo piano to large orchestra, including chamber opera and string quartet. Also active as an improvising pianist, he also manages the estate of his father, a painter and sculptor. In 2023, he published his first novel, Gaspard, with Éditions Léo Scheer. The following year, he composed the music for the feature film Island by Nora Jaenicke, starring Fanny Ardant and Joanna Kulig, as well as part of the soundtrack for the film Une affaire d'honneur by Vincent Perez. Trusted teacher: My in-home piano lessons follow a solid method forged by extensive teaching experience. I strive to tailor your journey to your dreams: mastering the classics from Haydn to Liszt, simply accompanying your voice, jazz/blues improvisation, etc. By default, my method is structured in two distinct parts addressed together or separately: - CLASSICAL PIANO: the teaching method adopted here corresponds to that provided at the conservatory. Music scores have a fundamental importance. This requires learning music theory using several supports: one dedicated to reading notes in isolation, an application also dedicated to this work and a practical manual. Technique is also important for the good practice of classical music pieces, which is why you follow a whole progression of exercises designed to make you work on articulation, velocity, precision of touch. If the classical repertoire is demanding and rich, we can also play more popular music: films, video games, variety, ... PIANO JAZZ/BLUES/POP/VARIETY We work to make you a proactive player in your musical journey. This generally comes after a classical piano course. However, not everyone necessarily has the time or the desire to achieve excellence, especially for adult beginners or even more advanced players. You choose the music covered and develop your ear and your knowledge of the keyboard (simple concepts of harmony at the same time). The repertoire corresponds to current music. We can even move towards improvisation and improvement in this area for students already introduced to jazz or bues in particular. Intimidating and then quickly liberating, this approach allows you to develop a creative and personal musical practice. You are then able to improvise, compose, or even play with other musicians. This approach is based around 4 main axes.
