My goal is to learn to love music through the instrument, and being able to express yourself with music, with classical songs, pop or BSO. If you are a beginner, don't worry, you would be able to play from the first lesson and develop your skills with technique and perseverance.

Every student needs a teacher who gives personal attention and is flexible, which is why I always adapt to the student's individual needs and different speeds of learning. Everyone is capable of making music, we only need to develop our skills, and with the right tools the world of music opens up. I am deeply convinced that music is something that we all need and find the most comforting in the trickiest situations. Music helps to express emotions and the cello is an instrument that is immensely similar to the human voice. I hope that every student of mine will find their voice and reveal their feelings while playing cello. Let’s meet in our first lesson and enjoy the world of music!

Looking to improve your singing, gain confidence, and express yourself better? I am a voice teacher with over 3 years of experience teaching students from ages 5 to adults. I have taught over 40 students in all genres, classical, musical theatre, and pop, and have successfully prepared them for ABRSM and Trinity exams. I believe that singing is innate to all of us, and if you can speak, you can sing! My class structure depends on your goals and starting point. During your lesson, we will explore your vocal profile and your goals, and I will show some of the vocal exercises that may help you. You can also bring a song you like, and we can work on the vocal technique, text, and facial or body expression. You can then decide if we are a good fit for one another. A singing class for children is very different from a class for adults. For example, with younger children, we do more vocal exploration and movement, to ensure that they build a love for music and to protect their voice. With adults looking to audition for semi-professional to professional jobs, we work on building a practical practice plan for your own vocal gym. For vocational adult amateurs, we may work on more songs than vocal exercises. I have a Master of Music in Singing (Classical) at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, and previously graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Vocal Performance) from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. I've received training in contemporary pop singing style with Meredith Colby's Neuro-Vocal Method, and also believe in the body-based Alexander Technique method of posture alignment. I regularly go for voice teacher training to make sure I stay updated with factual, anatomy-based methods. Students say that I bring a high energy, productive structure, and a personable atmosphere to every class!

You can contact me for extra German lessons at any level. This may include speaking, reading and writing skills, but also grammar, literary history or exam training. I myself have a broad German education: MO-A, MO-B and doctoraal. I have provided German lessons for the Scheidegger Institute, the Educational Center, in-company training and students of VCL The Hague. In addition to German, I teach Dutch up to and including the level of secondary education and NT-2 to non-Dutch speakers. I do not assume fixed teaching methods, but tailor the teaching material to you as an individual student as optimally as possible. In doing so, I make good use of my knowledge from other courses: coaching, counseling, mediation and didactics. As a retiree I can freely dispose of my time and therefore I am flexible in terms of dates and class times. In principle, a lesson lasts one clock hour. This can be extended if desired. I can always be contacted for interim questions. Finally, I can mention that I am a 'stacker' myself, who from the age of 21 to 55 did all his studies in the evenings in addition to a full-time job. Again, "Nothing is impossible for those who really want to"!
