Trusted teacher: Song, well-being and interpretation The voice is an instrument specific to everyone, which is why each course is tailor-made according to your tastes and abilities. Vocal technique Developing your vocal technique allows comfort and ease in the chosen repertoire. It requires some discipline and some proprioception. Thanks to a variety of exercises, I can help you understand the mechanisms related to the voice and better appropriate your body to achieve a more precise technique. Singing is a sport, and the development of muscles is important, just as much as the relaxation and flexibility of certain parts of the body. Taking vocal technique lessons is therefore a demanding activity both in terms of bodily activity and investment in progress and at home. Interpretation The understanding and the appropriation of the written text as well as the musical one is the key to the interpretation of a work. Together we can explore the multiple musical worlds by discovering the stories told but also those of the authors and composers. Through exercises, I can help you soak up the different emotions that you want to convey. Through various exercises of diction, declamation and theater, I will help you to transmit them. Reconnect to yourself Because singing is intimately linked to our emotions, I offer you exercises to reconnect to your physical and emotional body, in order to get to know you better but also to improve your self-confidence, your proprioception and acceptance as well as the transmission of emotions. Singing can be a real personal development tool, and personal development tools can help you sing better. Because the body is our instrument, well-being has its place in a technical singing lesson. Singing can be a healing tool for some people, but for others, minor traumas, whatever they are, can hamper the emission of the song. It is therefore important to come together to sing better: a healthy singer in a healthy body and mind. Singing confronts us with ourselves, our feelings, our emotions and our abilities. We can gently explore this complete tool that is our body for a better well-being in life and in song. Want to take a class? Who am I I am a young creative artist in live performance and mixed media, trained in lyrical singing during my bachelor at the Institute of Music and Pedagogy in Namur and my master at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève in Neuchâtel. I have a great choir experience thanks to the Choraline (youth choir of the opera of La Monnaie), the Maitrise of Paris, and the choir voces desuper as well as the animation of masses, in particular in the cathedral of Brussels and wedding masses. My experience as an actress and at the opera allowed me a great ease on stage and an inspiration as an author and director. I am also a modern art therapist trained by ifortpsy and meformer.

Hello! Welcome to my voice studio. Whether you're exploring singing for the first time, refining technique you already have, or preparing for auditions and performances, I'm here to help you discover what your voice can do. Good singing isn’t magic... it’s about understanding your instrument, practicing smart, and building confidence over time. I focus on connecting what you learn theoretically to what you actually feel when you sing, so technique becomes intuitive, not confusing. My approach is encouraging, practical, and built to help your voice stay healthy and strong for life. HOW OUR LESSONS WORK Every student’s journey with me begins with a conversation about your goals and a gentle assessment of your voice, so that every subsequent lesson is tailored to where you are and where you want to go. A typical one-hour session includes about 30 minutes focused on vocal technique and 30 minutes working with repertoire, though we’ll adjust the structure based on what you need most at any given time. WHAT WE'LL WORK ON I will help you reach whatever your individual goals are. I can help you develop strong breathing and breath support, refine your tone quality and intonation, explore vocal anatomy, work on singing posture, expand your range and flexibility, harmonize your vowels, make stylistically appropriate choices, master proper diction and pronunciation in Italian, German, and French when applicable, build performance confidence, develop musical theater technique, and prepare audition materials. I also guide students on vocal health, injury prevention, repertoire selection and career development. MY CREDENTIALS I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts in Voice from the Eastman School of Music and will be joining the University of South Dakota as Assistant Professor of Voice and Opera in August 2026. I bring extensive performance experience in opera, art song, concert repertoire, and musical theater, combined with specialized training in vocal pedagogy and voice science. STUDENT TESTIMONIALS "This is my second year working with Joshua. I cannot explain the amount of gratitude that I have for his pedagogy and how much he has transformed my voice since I started with him. Joshua is on a completely different level of teaching. His practice techniques are never tedious/boring. Everything I wanted in a voice teacher and more." "Joshua does a great job at making lessons fun and friendly yet engaging, productive, and interesting. I love his unique vocal exercises and how he explains technique and how he is structuring our lessons around that theory of technique. Overall, Joshua is a fantastic teacher and has helped me progress tremendously in a very short period of time." "Joshua is an excellent teacher with a natural rapport and sincere enthusiasm towards the progress and success of his students. His standout qualities are his genuine care for his students, excellent teaching persona, and natural ability to create a supportive learning environment." FAQ Do I need any singing experience to start?
No! Beginners are absolutely welcome. I teach students of all levels and adjust lessons to match your current abilities. What if I don’t know what songs I want to learn?
I can suggest repertoire that matches your voice type and interests, or we can explore options together based on what you love to sing. How quickly will I see progress?
Many students notice improvement within their first few lessons. Consistent practice between lessons accelerates progress significantly. Can I study both classical and musical theater? What about other genres?
Absolutely! Many students enjoy exploring a variety of singing styles. I specialize in classical and musical theater performance, but we can focus on any genre according to your interests. What should I prepare before my first lesson?
Just bring enthusiasm and an open mind! You may want to have some songs in mind that you’d like to learn, but this isn’t required.

As someone who loves singing it was very helpful in the very first lesson to begin to understand the muscles I need to use and the "spaces" I need to create to stabilise and improve my sound. I also felt she responded well to each question I raised, or issue she heard in the way I did the excercises. I look forward to future lessons.
