Graduated with a BA in Applied Foreign Languages English / German and having been active in the educational field for some time, I was also deeply interested in the effective functioning of learning (in terms of neuropsychology in particular). My most precious objective within the framework of my courses is to transmit the joy of learning (in my precise case, foreign languages but the substance of the concept does not stop at this specific area) and to create / s self-create while cultivating the mind. I thus draw on historical, cultural, philosophical and artistic resources by promoting student reflection and interest in oral, written and mental expression. Also a student in holistic medicine (integrative / alternative), I take advantage of this teaching framework to tackle themes aimed at improving the well-being of everyone through an awareness of their potential overflowing with talent, energy and beauty. I currently still teach my German students and will be available to teach online now (especially in the morning or on weekends) or face-to-face from the start of June in Montpellier. Hi! I'm Emily, an American living in Montpellier who wants to help you improve your English! I currently work for the Montpellier Academy as a language assistant in public middle schools. I have experience tutoring French students from elementary to high school, as well as proofreading texts and proposals for professionals. In addition to teaching, I have eight years of experience caring for children from birth to 14 years old. I base my lessons on your goals. My first and most important question is: what do you want to accomplish? Every student is different and learns differently. If your goal is to improve your reading, I will assess your English level and then prepare appropriate texts for us to work on together. If you are preparing for a specific exam, I will gladly prepare the lessons according to the grading grid. If you are looking to improve your conversational skills, I find the best way to improve is to discuss topics that interest you! Above all, I try to make my classes as stress-free as possible. Stress inhibits our ability to learn, so I aim to create a friendly, pressure-free environment.

If you do not feel comfortable expressing yourself in English at work, school or abroad, I'm here to help. As a student in applied foreign languages, my courses are for anyone wishing to learn or improve their English. I have 6 years of experience as a teacher and have lived in an English-speaking country during high school. Methodology: My classes are tailor-made, with monitoring of the student's progress (a report at the end of each class). I use various supports during the lessons, including grammar sheets made by me and a manual that I edited myself. I also use conversation cards and debate cards for those who wish; audio and video recordings, role plays, newspaper articles and various podcasts. As each student is different, there is no "classical" methodology, as my courses are prepared according to your level and goals (whether you need long or short term courses). I give classes in conversation, writing, grammar; exam preparation IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, BULATS, Cambridge etc .; preparation for the BAC; interview preparation; translation CVs and cover letters; preparation for presentations; school support for a student at school. So what's important to me is to help you achieve your goals. Sometimes it is necessary to work more the oral, sometimes it is the writing, the vocabulary, the accent. Helping you know where to start, find your personal motivation and unlock yourself are key points in my approach. Regarding the procedure: We start with a session that allows me to know you and assess your level of English and to know your goals.
