Trusted teacher: Hi there! My name is Quinn K., and I am a TEFL-certified professional English/Foreign language teacher with a passion for a multitude of languages. I have taught English all over the pacific rim, in Vietnam, Korea and Japan, both at professional English-teaching schools and with private tutoring. I have also tutored English for several years in Portland, Oregon. In Vietnam I privately tutored a wide variety of age groups in English, ranging from Kindergarten to college-aged students. I tutored younger age groups in English Vocabulary and Conversation skills, and college students for IELTS/TOEFL prep and general professional English. In Seoul, South Korea I worked at a school for North Korean refugees, teaching conversational English to large classes. In Japan, I worked at an after-school program teaching English to middle school students, employing ESL games and structured lessons for students. Through these various English-teaching endeavors, I believe I have a strong skill-set for teaching English to all age groups, and in the full range of contexts (Conversational-to business English). Once returning to the United States, I began one-on-one tutoring sessions for professional and conversational English. In total I have 3 years of professional experience tutoring and teaching English. In combination with my TEFL certification, which has strengthened the backbone of my lessons in professional English, my qualifications and experiences make me the perfect pick for all of your English tutoring needs :) I also speak and tutor a wide variety of foreign languages, including French, Spanish, Cantonese, and Korean. I have extensive background in all of these languages (grammar, pronunciation, etc.), and can teach them as fluidly as I can English. I have tutored these languages privately for two years now here in Portland.

Trusted teacher: Hello! / Bonjour! I am an American, native English speaker, artist, instructor, and life-long enthusiast of languages, arts, and cultures. I am 35 years old and I am from Michigan in the United States. I began learning French and German at a young age. I studied French for several years in middle school, high school, and at my university. Currently, as a self-taught learner, I am studying French, German, Italian, and others. I also organize group conversation events for French language learners and natives, and I taught English to French students in France. As a learner of multiple languages, I am familiar with the challenges of learning a new language. Over time, I have tested and adapted different tools, methods, and approaches that work for myself and others. My favorite parts of teaching English and French are: - Teaching about the culture as a way to learn the language of the culture - Leading conversations that match your interests and learning goals to help you practice pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, idiomatic and cultural expressions, and fluency - Leading reading exercises (books, news, literature) to help you practice reading comprehension while improving your knowledge of grammar and vocabulary - Leading dialogues (short fiction skits, theatre plays, scripts from real interviews) to practice speaking skills, expression, and to help you comprehend the nuances of American English - Help with editing and translating your written work (e.g. cover letters, books, video subtitles, essays, fiction, and homework) - Using your favorite textbook or learning materials to create more engaging, useful content - Finding creative ways for you to teach yourself and to become an independent learner I studied with the International TEFL Academy and received my Training Qualifications UK (TQUK) Level 5 Teaching Certification to teach English as a Foreign Language (EFL) / English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) in 2020. I also have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Michigan in the United States, and I teach art and creativity. Some of my other interests include: Cooking, gardening, reading, writing, dancing, spending time outdoors, swimming, running, traveling, watching movies, meeting new people, and learning about cultures and languages. I have traveled to France, francophone Canada (Vieux Québec, Montréal, and Ottawa), and Ukraine. I am new to teaching, but I have some experience teaching a wide variety of ages. This means I am open to customizing my teaching methods to best match your learning style, interests, and goals. Most importantly, helping others reach their goals is fulfilling work to me. I would love to learn more about you and want to help you succeed. Thank you, and I look forward to meeting you!

Trusted teacher: If you have decided to teach Hindi to your kids and are on the crossroad on how to begin, then look no further. Hindi teaching for kids may seem an easy task but with the ways suggested below your child is sure to pick up the threads. Just tickle the curiosity and the interest levels of your child, and you are on the road to progress. 1. Structured Approach Start with having a discussion with your child about Hindi as a language and its importance. Gather information that would be interesting and pique the curiosity of your child. Once you have achieved that, set aside a certain time of the day to dedicate to learning the language. Ensure that you stick to the routine as it would become a habit and your child will automatically tune themselves for learning. Plan the lessons on a task basis. Chalk out what needs to be covered on a daily basis and limit the amount of information. For example, if you are teaching the Hindi alphabets, start with saying it all at once and then pick a few alphabets a day to iterate and reinforce learning. Follow it with a revision the next day before you move to the next set to learn. Make gradual progress from one stage to another so that your child does not feel the burden and enjoys learning. 2. Practice Sessions Apart from setting time for lessons, incorporate practising sessions during other times. Don’t make it seem like a formal tutorial, but just practice what they learn when they are having fun. For example, ask a few questions while driving, or at the dinner table, or while dropping them off at school or even while giving them a bath.

Trusted teacher: Hi, In an ever-changing world where knowledge and data keep growing, we may not neglect real social contact. Since I was a little boy helping others has always been important to me. I would like to contribute to our society by bringing people together. Connecting them is my ambition and I want to work towards this goal. I am a Belgian student in my second year of Civil Engineering (KU Leuven). Recently, I realized this is not the direction I want to go. The courses being too theoretical to me, I was lacking the perspective of human interaction. The latter is the main incentive for my academic reorientation. In September, I will start a degree in Business Engineering. Before I start my new studies, I want to use the upcoming 5 months to share my knowledge and acquire complementary skills. The quality of teaching at my high school (Heilig Hartcollege Tervuren) is something I’m really proud of. I would be glad to share the education I had the chance to get and support you or your child/teen. Consider it as some study pathway counseling. I can cover almost every field until university level Civil Engineering. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have a special inquiry or would like to know more about me or the fields of study I can cover. I’m currently in Belgium where I have acquired experience in giving private support for the past two years. If you are in Manhattan give me 3 to 4 days to pack my bags and fly over. Lessons can be taught in English, French or Dutch. Hoping to meet you soon and start working on enhancing those performances! I'm open to all kind of offers and propositions. Best regards, Arnaud
