Can learning English be fun, insightful, productive and effective at the same time? I believe so!

Whatever your background or profession, deciding to learn a foreign language is a great way to add another dimension to your life and make your mind work in a new way. You become a (slightly) different person, since along with a new language, one learns to look at the world in a slightly different way. This is why my approach to teaching English is not only aimed at laying or strengthening the foundational knowledge - grammar, speaking, writing and listening skills, but also at introducing students to the culture of the English-speaking population. We will find out what English speakers find funny, what drives them to tears, what makes them feel proud and what they get embarrassed about.

Open to students of all levels, my course usually is taught online, using a variety of visual aids and a wide range of material, from textbooks to YouTube videos. In teaching advanced learners, I often refer to pieces of literature such as novels and poems, since they easily spark discussions, which in turn improves the students' grasp and feel of the language. In doing so, I take students beyond ordinary textbooks and grammar books, since they are no more than guides to learning, not absolute authorities, and because to me language is a living, constantly evolving matter, which you must submerge yourself into in order to understand.

In addition to my unorthodox approach, what sets me apart is a collection of unique, language-related experiences, which translate into a good ability to understand nuances of the English language. A native Russian speaker, I have lived in the UK for over 5 years, went to a Scottish boarding school and have even completed a university degree in English. Are you studying Italian but want to expand your vocabulary and conversation skills? Talking to a native Italian speaker is the best way to improve your language skills! I'm 24 and was born in Italy (Siena, Tuscany, to be more specific) and move to London three years ago. I'm a performer and dance teacher, but over the years I have also worked as a teaching assistant in primary schools, so I have experience working with children as well as adults.
I graduated high school in Italy with the highest marks 100/100, specialising in classical studies especially Italian language and literature.

Le setswana est une langue riche et rythmée parlée au Botswana, en Afrique du Sud, au Zimbabwe et en Namibie. Appartenant à la famille bantoue, elle ressemble beaucoup aux autres langues de la région.
J'ai trouvé l'apprentissage du setswana grâce à plusieurs professeurs formidables, à des manuels complets et à une vie quotidienne enrichissante.

Grandir au Botswana, parler cette langue belle et complexe, ou du moins faire un effort pour le faire, peut transformer votre façon de vivre au Botswana.
J'ai donné des cours de setswana pour débutants pendant un semestre à des enfants de 7 à 12 ans et à des adultes, en mettant l'accent sur la compréhension de la grammaire en la décomposant en « formules » pour la formation des temps et des phrases. J'enseigne ces notions et le vocabulaire à travers un mélange de cours explicatifs traditionnels, d'exercices pratiques et de jeux créatifs, accompagnés de techniques d'étude que j'ai trouvées très utiles pour l'apprentissage des langues étrangères. J'ai également travaillé comme professeur d'anglais qualifié et j'étudie la linguistique à l'université, ce qui m'a permis de mieux comprendre et enseigner la langue.

Chaque cours sera composé de formules grammaticales (par exemple : conjugaison de base au présent : pronom d'état [pour le groupe de noms humains, par exemple : ke=je, o=tu, o=lui/elle, re=nous, le=vous pluriel, ba=ils] + « tla » [comme dans « will »] + verbe), de quelques mots de vocabulaire, d'exercices oraux ou écrits ou de jeux à faire ensemble et d'exercices pratiques plus longs pour développer une confiance indépendante.

J'ai développé le matériel pédagogique que j'utilise pendant que je vivais au Botswana et qui a déjà été utilisé dans mes cours mentionnés ci-dessus. J'espère qu'il pourra vous aider aussi !

My name is Bako and I am a very hard-working individual. As a student who struggled for years to get good grades, I know the struggle and pain. However, I was willing to change my life around and so can you. I can't stress enough how most of the things taught to students nowadays really do not help them at all and is the reason why they aren't seeing any progress. As a year 12 student who's just finished GCSE, I can vouch and argue that I know all the tips and tricks to get grade 9s in History and Religious Education. My main techniques to help students are Revision Methods, Exam Structure and the Information needed for the exam. I am very confident in teaching History and RE as I was able to get grade 9s in all my mocks consistently.
