About Me

Hi there, nice to meet you!

My name is Jan and I grew up in Germany, but I currently live in Belgium. I have been an international student for the past 6 years and received my Bachelor's degree in Communication and Information Studies in the Netherlands. My Bachelor's program and my current Master's program are taught in English, and I have lived, traveled, and worked in Native English-speaking countries (New Zealand, Australia, and Canada) for more than a year. I am fluent in English and German, and I am also proficient in French and Dutch, and I speak a bit of Vietnamese too.

Growing up speaking two languages, German and Vietnamese, I have always been fascinated with learning more about languages and learning to speak more languages. Along the way, I have also taken a liking to teaching people what I know about the languages that I know. Throughout my travels around the world and my academic journey, I realized the gift of being multilingual, and I am hoping to share this gift with everyone who is open to it. Apart from language, I take an interest in a wide variety of fields - music, sports, arts, history, science, and much more - which I am happy to integrate into the curriculum as well.

About me personally, I am a fun-loving, easy-going, and optimistic person who enjoys spending time with my loved ones, engaging in outside activities, but also staying inside to watch movies & series, to read a good book, or to practice drawing. The purpose of the course is to see with the student, the student or the adult, what are its weak points, and use various tools (grammar, vocabulary, hearing, reading, ...) to remedy it. It can quite come with a concrete request (like for example, to explain a grammar point such as the present perfect) or simply to wish to deepen one's knowledge of the language, or even to start in this same learning of the language. - I have been learning English and French for 6 years and I have been learning Dutch for 4 years.
- For the lessons I will divide the course into 2 parts. The first will be: "exercises" and the 2nd "grammar". I will set up fun exercises to train the 4 dimensions of languages (listening, writing, reading and speaking).
